For susceptible infections:
a) 11 - 33 mg/kg PO q8h (Aronson and Aucoin 1989)
b) 22 mg/kg PO q8h; administer with food if GI upset occurs (Vaden and Papich 1995)
c) 10 - 30 mg/kg PO q8h (Riviere 1989)
d) 30 mg/kg PO q12h (Jenkins 1987a)
e) For Staph. osteomyelitis: 30 mg/kg PO q12h (Ford and Aronson 1985)

Cats: Cat

For susceptible infections:
a) 11 - 33 mg/kg PO q8h (Aronson and Aucoin 1989)
b) 22 mg/kg PO q8h; administer with food if GI upset occurs (Vaden and Papich 1995)
c) 10 - 30 mg/kg PO q8h (Riviere 1989)
d) 30 mg/kg PO q12h (Jenkins 1987a)

Horses: Horse

For susceptible infections:
a) 25 mg/kg PO qid (Robinson 1987)
b) 22 - 33 mg/kg PO q6h (Brumbaugh 1987)

Birds: Bird

For susceptible infections:
a) 35 - 50 mg/kg PO qid (using suspension); most preps are well accepted. (Clubb 1986)
b) 40 - 100 mg/kg q6h PO (Hoeffer 1995)
