Doses - ETHACRYNIC ACID

Dogs & Cats: Dog Cat

a) 0.2 - 0.4 mg/kg IM or IV q4-12h (Allen, Pringle et al. 1993)
Monitoring Parameters - 1) Serum electrolytes, BUN, creatinine, glucose; 2) Hydration status; 3)
Blood pressure, if indicated; 4) Symptoms of edema, patient weight, if indicated; 5) Evaluation ofototoxicity, particularly with prolonged therapy or in cats
Client Information - Recommend to administer dosage with meals when possible. Clients shouldcontact veterinarian if symptoms of water or electrolyte imbalance occur. Symptoms such asexcessive thirst, lethargy, lassitude, restlessness, oliguria, GI distress or tachycardia may indicateelectrolyte or water balance problems.
