Dogs: Dog

For treating or assisting in treatment of ventricular arrhythmias:
a) 4 - 8 mg/kg PO tid (Hamlin 1992)
b) 5 - 8 mg/kg PO q8-12h (Muir and Bonagura 1994)
c) 4 - 10 mg/kg PO tid (Lunney and Ettinger 1991)
Monitoring Parameters - 1) In humans, therapeutic plasma concentrations are: 0.5 - 2.0 micrograms/ml. Toxicity may be noted at therapeutic levels; 2) ECG; 3) Adverse Effects
Client Information - Instruct to give with food, if animal develops anorexia or vomiting.
Reinforce compliance with prescribed therapy.
