Doses - AMRINONE LACTATE

Dogs: Dog

As a positive inotropic agent:
a) In cardiogenic shock: Slow IV bolus (over 2-3 minutes) of 0.75 mg/kg, then a constant infusion of 5 -10 micrograms/kg/min. (Keene 1989)
b) 1 - 3 mg/kg IV followed by 30 - 100 micrograms/kg/min IV infusion (Muir and Bonagura 1994)

Cats: Cat

a) 1 - 3 mg/kg IV followed by 30 - 100 micrograms/kg/min IV infusion (Muir and Bonagura 1994)
Monitoring Parameters -
1) Blood pressure; 2) Heart rate/rhythm; 3) Body weight; 4) Platelet counts
Client Information - Clients should be made aware of the "investigational nature" of the use ofthis drug in dogs or cats prior to its usage.
