Doses - PROPIONIBACTERIUM ACNES INJECTION

Dogs:

For labeled indications:
a) Shake well. Give via intravenous route at the following dosages: For animals weighingup to 15 lbs. = 0.25 - 0.5 ml; 15 - 45 lbs = 0.25 - 1 ml; 45 - 75 lbs = 1 - 1.5 ml; over 75lbs = 1.5 - 2 ml. During the first two weeks give 4 times at 3-4 day intervals, then onceweekly until symptoms abate or stabilize. Maintenance doses once per month arerecommended. (Package Insert - Immunoregulin®)
For adjunctive therapy of chronic recurrent canine pyoderma:
a) 0.03 - 0.07 ml/kg twice weekly for 10 weeks (combined with antibiotic therapy) (Barta1992)

Cats:

For adjunctive therapy of feline retrovirus infections:
a) 0.5 ml IV twice weekly for 2 weeks, then one injection weekly for 20 weeks or until catis seronegative. (McCaw 1994)
