Doses - DACARBAZINE

Dogs: Dog

For lymphoreticular neoplasms:
a) 200 - 250 mg/m2 IV once daily for 5 days; repeat cycle every 21 days. (Jacobs,
Lumsden et al. 1992)
For soft tissue sarcomas:
a) As part of the ADIC protocol: Dacarbazine 1000 mg/m2 IV drip over 6-8 hours, repeatevery 3 weeks; Doxorubicin 30 mg/m2 IV every 3 weeks; trimethoprim/sulfadiazine 15mg/kg PO q12h. (Peterson and Couto 1994b)
Monitoring Parameters - 1) Efficacy; 2) Toxicity, including CBC with differential and platelets;renal and hepatic function tests
Client Information - Inform clients of the potential toxicities and risks associated with this therapy and to report immediately any signs associated with serious toxicity (e.g., bloody vomiting ordiarrhea, abnormal bleeding, bruising, urination, depression, infection, shortness of breath, etc.).
