    • Doctor Smith and his staff are absolutely wonderful and very knowledgeable.
    • Great facility in Northport for vet clinic and pet boarding.
    • The doctor was friendly and answered my questions, but everything seemed rushed.

N.E. The vet was very knowledgeable about my tortoise and his species. The vet was able to answer all my questions and do all of the tests to ensure my animal was healthy. The vet also was able to further educate me on the best possible care of my Western Hermann’s tortoise. I highly recommend this vet.
C.B.H. Dr. Smith is the vet I respect and has my implicit trust! He has a very calming and reassuring manner, is very thorough and listens to all my complaints & worries. I would trust his opinion over anyone else! He is kind and truly loves animals and I know he is outstanding in everything he does. I've been going to him for all my animals for about a decade and have never had any doubt in his doctoring. My wish would be for his practice to get an ultrasound machine! If I could donate towards that, I certainly would! If you need quality care for your fur baby, ask to see Dr. Smith, who has been a fantastic vet to our pets over the years and always goes above and beyond to help! UPDATE 3/16/23. Although Dr. Smith is retired (and we miss him! ), I had a great visit with Dr. Drain. She is definitely someone who cares about animals and I appreciated her warm & friendly demeanor. I look forward to her meeting my other fur babies!
K.L. I had to board my dog here because the other places I wanted were full. Everyone was nice and the place smelled clean. I did not like that I had to pay extra for a mandatory bath but he smelled good coming out. They seemed to be unorganized because I had to email them my dog’s shot records three times and when I called they said they still didn’t receive them. However, when I got there they somehow had them on record. When they called the person for help to take my dog back, the person came out and pet my dog then went to the back without taking my dog as I answered questions to the clerk. They had to call the person again, and they finally came out to take my dog. My dog came back with some aggressive behaviors but I guess that’s to be expected in general when one has to leave them behind. I will not board here again unless I have to.
A.W. I will start by saying that Indian hills does a great job caring for my animals. This review is not a reflection of the care they provide. With that being said…the same care can be and has been provided for me at McLendon and my vet back home in Georgia for a cost astronomically lower than Indian Hills. My first few times at Indian Hills my total had additional costs from what they quoted me but had reasoning behind them so I accepted the cost. However this has been the outcome every single time I have gone. I was quoted around $165 per dog for their vaccinations this year (I have 2 dogs, one being a puppy at the time). My total came out to nearly $650 dollars on their vaccinations that visit. Being a college student who makes it a priority to take excellent care of my dogs, I call ahead of every appointment to get a quote for the upcoming visit’s expenses. However my final bill continuously exceeds my quoted total by hundreds of dollars. I greatly appreciate the care that the veterinarians at this clinic provide but the constant overcharging has driven me away as a client and I will now be seeking my dog’s veterinarian care at McLendon while here in Alabama and I would suggest the same to anyone seeking veterinary care that doesn’t have an expendable wallet.
N.H. I have been going to Indian Hills for a while now. Dr. Smith has went out of his way to support my lab/Shepard to get extended treatment from Auburn and has even taken me and my cattle dog in at the very end of the day to treat her for a small emergency. Thanks Dr. Smith!
