Review:
The best service I have ever received from a vet clinic.
Vet spent a lot of time explaining the diagnosis and planned treatment.
The staff there is welcoming, efficient and they treat our dogs like family.

B.S.I couldn't say enough good things about this place. We came here after being disappointed with other vet offices in Oak Harbor, but this one did not disappoint! We went in one morning without an appointment, and after explaining our dog's situation, they were able to squeeze us in for an urgent tooth extraction. The office is kept very clean, everyone who works there is nice and caring, and the vets explain everything in great detail so you can fully understand what is happening with your fur-baby. When we picked our dog up after his surgery, they showed us videos they had taken during the operation and went through the pre-op x-rays. They explained the prescribed meds super well and made sure they answered all of our questions. Also, their prices are super reasonable/fair. Definitely bring your pets here!
V.B.Very nice staff, busy time in early morn, but definitely worth your time.. Doc called and let me know by phone her prognosis. He was found at about 8 hrs old and turns 1 May 20, 2023. He's great.
J.M.I moved here a few months ago and am so glad i found this vet. I brought my two cats here and they really do care and take pride in their job. My sweet Zoey is finally getting the care she deserves. My last vet couldn't seem to figure out how to handle over grooming. Now she's on the correct medication that is helping! Thank you!
T.C.I took my dog in on Tuesday and he was having health issues. I had to put him down, the ladies there were super sweet ? and very nice to us and my chi. Thank you guys so much for the flowers ?? they smell amazing and they are beautiful! ☺️.
R.W.They're always so friendly to the humans and pets, knowledgeable, not pushy about treatments, and the pricing is good. They've squeezed us in, in a pinch, which is amazing given how difficult it is to find a vet in this area. We're thrilled to have found Best Friends Veterinary!
B.H.This is hands down one of the most caring and compassionate vet office I have ever been to. Last week our dog (13 yrs old) developed a mass from her spleen to liver. There was nothing they could do surgery wise since it was already attached to the liver. She was in pain and we didn't want her to suffer, we had to put her down that day. It was really sudden and heartbreaking for my husband and I. They gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes and were very caring and compassionate. You could tell they felt our pain. Its never easy having to put down your pets. They took the time to explain the process and let us stay with her for as long as we wanted after she crossed the rainbow bridge. Afterwards they sent us a really pretty flower bouquet and and hand written card from both the nurse and vet who helped us.
J.M.Best Friends is the. best. Words would fail to describe how grateful I am for the compassion and care they demonstrated toward me and my dog, Sadie. They cared for my beloved pit bull Junior for nearly 10 years on and off as we have left and come back to the island between 2003-2022. We just came back again this past summer 2022 and I needed to take my pit mix Sadie in for an ear infection. I called 4 vets in the area but no one was taking new patients. The lady who answered from Best Friends was the only one who asked me if it was a serious medical conccern. I told her it was an ear infection (my dog has a history of ear infections). She offered to ask Dr. Syring if there was any way we could have Sadie seen in the next few days. I called later in the afternoon, and was able to get an appointmentthe next day. We went to see Dr. Syring for the ear infection and she noticed some enlarged lymph nodes on my dog, which she feared was lymphoma. After some testing, her diagnosis was correct. We are absolutely heartbroken and devastated. Dr. Syring then explained the next steps and what our options were. We decided to consult with an oncologist in Seattle and Dr. Syring has been working with them over the past week to expedite any tests before we go in for our fist visit. Dr. Syring and her vet techs (Meg is one name I remember) have called several times to ask how Sadie is doing and to keep me informed of test results, etc. Dr. Syring personally has communicated with me via email as I was out of town on a preplanned trip. I honestly feel like they cared for my dog like they would care for their own. (And this is just my recent experience with them, I didn't even detail the wonderful care they provided my dog Junior from many years ago. Dr. Syring actually remembered my boy, all these years later. ) Many reviewers say they are expensive, but vet care is expensive. They are an AAHA practice as well. In all of the years I've been going to them, I feel like I was getting the very best care from the best people, it's worth every penny. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone! Thank you Dr. Syring and the team who have helped us over the past 2 weeks. I don't know what happens now, and this cancer journey will be hard but I feel like Sadie is in the best hands. I feel grateful for their compassion, experience, knowledge and professionalism. Thank you.
C.R.I've been taking both my Mastiff, and Shepard here for about seven months, and I'm pleased with the quality, and competence if this practice. My shears had just had a TPLO surgery, and it has been such a smooth process. I highly recommend this center for your dog, or cat.
