Abri Veterinary Hospital, Inc., was founded in May, 1975 by David D. Harris, DVM, as a full service veterinary hospital. Dr. Charles Bocholis joined the staff in 1983, Dr. Joel Fox in 1984 , Dr. Mary Jane Jennings in 1988 and Dr. Sandra McAvoy in 1994. Our goals are to provide you with the best possible service and your pet with the best possible healthcare in a timely and compassionate manner.

We are conveniently located near the intersection of I-40 and Peters Creek Parkway. If coming south on Peters Creek from Winston , after crossing I-40, turn right at the 2nd stoplight at McDonalds onto Trademart Blvd. and we will be the 4th building on the left. If coming up Peters Creek Parkway from Davidson County past K-Mart on the left, the next stop-light at McDonalds, turn left onto Trademart Blvd.. Silas Creek Parkway-Corporation Parkway cross Peters Creek Parkway near the main I-40 access . Simply turn South on Peters Creek Parkway and come to McDonalds and turn Right.

We are a full service Veterinary Hospital offering medicine, surgery, dentistry, in-house lab for immediate blood chemistries, radiology and automatic film processor for rapid x-ray assessments, ECG and Cardio-pet for cardiovascular work-ups, Isoflurane anesthetic machine, cardio-pulmonary-pulse ox monitor, doppler blood pressure unit, tonopen for immediate accurate ocular pressures, Hall air drill and orthopedic equipment for compression plating and endoscope for non-surgical evaluation of gastro-intestinal tract. In addition, we offer boarding and grooming. Appointments to see a doctor are not necessary as a readily available staff of doctors minimizes waiting time. However, if you prefer a specific doctor or would like an appointment, please call in advance and an appointment will be given. Appointments are necessary for surgery, grooming and boarding. In addition. a group of board certified specialists for referrals is conveniently located within a 20 minute drive for those cases that require advanced, specialized treatment.

We stock a full pharmacy of quality products. We buy only from reputable suppliers located within the US who have a long history of proper handling, storage and quality products. We guarantee the quality of all the products we sell. We stock a full inventory of medicines, heartworm and intestinal parasite preventions and flea and tick preventions. We do not purchase from any distributors that purchase products from third world countries and then re-label them for sell within the US as we have no knowledge of quality control and production.

We are a computerized practice but keep complete paper records as well. With each visit, your pet's medical information is entered into the computer. Therefore, you will get an automatic reminder in the mail when your pet's vaccinations, heartworm checks, fecal checks, and heartworm preventives are due. In addition, each receipt will have a statement of the status of your pet's vaccinations.

We also have a kennel for boarding dogs and cats. Our kennels are air conditioned and heated. We have a centrally monitored smoke and fire alarm system as well as a burglary alarm system that is monitored 24 hours daily, seven days a week. Dogs have the option of staying in indoor runs or stainless steel cages. Some do better in runs and some prefer the den effect of the cages. All dog cages have rubber mats for your pet's comfort. All dogs are exercised 3 times daily. Dogs that are boarded 6 nights or more are given a free bath the morning of the day they are to go home. A veterinarian checks with the kennel staff and the kennels twice daily seven days a week.

M.V. We took our 5 1/2 year old rescue into Abri for her wellness check last week. Dr. Dave Ackerman went above and beyond examining Maddie. He discussed his findings in depth which meant so much to us because we don’t yet have history with her. Vet techs and front desk staff were so kind and patient with Maddie. Abri will definitely be Maddie’s permanent vet since compassion and patience are so important in helping Maddie adjust.

C.M. All of the doctors and staff are wonderful. They're always happy to make sure I understand what my cat needs and doesn't need, and they plan ahead to make sure clients have access to medications and dietary needs.

A.M. Everyone was fantastic I immediately made an appointment to bring my dog in on Wednesday, March 15 because she needs to get updates on some of her shots. And a nail trim. They are fantastic. They carried my cat back out to the car for me because I have a broken arm and just had surgery and I can’t lift him easily and they’re going to be meeting me out to pick up my dog out of my car and take my dog into her appointment with me. They are fantastic. I highly recommend them.

A.D. Dr. McAvoy and all her colleagues and staff are simply wonderful people who are amazing at their jobs! No one wants to go to the vet least of all our fur babies but they make the necessary checkups painless and easy.

S.P. I adopted and rescue and came to them because this is the place my puppy had been going. I have not had to wait long and never felt rushed. They have been amazing! The staff and doctor are very friendly and helpful. I will be moving my other furbabies over to Abri.
