Opened in September of 2002, The Zoo Animal Hospital is an independent animal services and supplies store specializing in medicine, surgery, pet food, and accessories. We have more than 8 years of experience in animal care. Our employees truly care about animals, and as a team we are dedicated to the continued support of domesticated animals in Edgewood, NM.

The Zoo Animal Hospital has advanced diagnostic equipment on premises and also has referral relationships with orthopedic surgeons, internal medicine specialists, and advanced imaging centers (ultrasound and CT scans). Our surgery suite is without compare in the Albuquerque area. We also carry a full range of food and medication for all your pet’s needs.

The entire staff is dedicated to the reduction of the stray animal overpopulation. We participate in the Community Assistance Program which provides low income families with financial help in spaying and neutering their pets. We also volunteer one Thursday a month to Watermelon Mountain Ranch providing them with low cost spay and neuter services.

W. We took our adopted pet for her first check-up. Very nice staff. I just recently called for a 30-pound spay, and they charge over $300. It is horrible the high price for society to make a change and reduce animal procreation.

C.G. We had to make the hard decision to let our elderly cat go. The process was effortless and the atmosphere was calming and carefree. They even had a nice private room in which to say goodbye that had a private exit door to the outside. We were 100% satisfied with our visit and even pleasantly surprised that they opted to bill us for the visit instead of paying that day.

S.S. Dr. Coleman and lovely vet techs took great care of our pit bull. She needed 2 surgeries. They didn't try and pressure us to do it either as it was not cheap but we went ahead with the procedure. THEY ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT YOUR PET, NOT JUST YOUR MONEY.

M.L. With the exception of one of the veterinarians the entire staff was wonderful I couldn't have asked for better treatment for me or my dog. Dr Coleman and his vet techs were compassionate, caring and they made a bad situation really good for me or as good as it could be anyway. Thank you Dr Coleman. You are wonderful. Having her leg amputated was harder on me than her. She is doing better than ever. Bunny is my emotional support dog, saving her life was the only choice, she's saved mine many times. Thank-you,. S.M. Dr. Coleman and his team preformed my dogs surgery on her broken femur. They are amazing and worked with us! They are genuine and actually care about your animal! They also helped us and gave us options for our other dog who got Parvo shortly after we just paid for the surgery. We are so grateful we found a vet who cares for our dogs as we do! Because of them we have both of our dogs and our sons have their best friends!
