We're committed to providing the best possible care and services, and our Web site is now available for you twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week.

CityPaws Animal Hospital was opened in the spring of 2006 by Drs. Wendy Knight and Sarah Bowman and is located in the U Street and Logan Circle neighborhoods. Our hospital’s mission is to provide high quality veterinary care in a compassionate environment. We provide veterinary services to cats, dogs, and exotic animals, including ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, and gerbils. In addition to offering wellness care, our hospital offers state of the art medical, surgical and dental care. CityPaws is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association. and. the. Mid-City..Business Association. Our veterinarians are members of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

CityPaws us dedicated to serving the community.? We are currently working with local rescue groups including CityDogs Rescue and ASAP Alliance in an effort to provide quality care and new homes for pets.? CityPaws also support AAHA's Helping Hands Fund, the Animal Cancer Foundation, the Whitman Walker Clinic, Jubilee Housing and the Audubon Naturalist Society.

M.G. Cannot say enough amazing things about City Paws, its staff, and particularly Dr. Bowman. We have been taking our pets here for 15+ years and have always received the best care. They know pets are cherished family members so will give them excellent care and are also great with providing loving guidance to pet parents. My now senior cat has had various health challenges over the years, and Dr. Bowman has always provided amazing guidance and advice for all of his conditions, especially as he has grown older. They also have provided great care for our new Pomsky. You get what you pay for and these guys are the best of the best.

J.H. I’ve been a patient with City Paws for five years, and recently had my small chihuahua Hendrix in for his first teeth cleaning under anesthesia. The tech and reception team and Dr. Burke really put my mind at ease and took excellent care of Hendo. Made a stressful/anxious day a bit more manageable, and always takes great care of folks’ pets.

A.A. I had a phenomenal and caring experience here. Dr. Knight was so kind and patient to my dog who I recently adopted. She answered all my questions, gave me all the information I needed and helped create a plan for when my dog should be coming in for check ups and vaccines. This experience really stood out to me because I went to another small vets office in DC recently and although the vet was kind they didn’t let me in the room, they rushed me out and gave me no time for questions. Totally different experience at CityPaws where I was able to sit in the room and really talk with the vet. This will definitely be where I continue to take my dog.

D.Y. Took us 2 weeks to register our dog for her first visit and wellness check. We had a 9 am appointment and I thought the service was good/polite. Our vet took time to explain her findings to us and course of treatment. Plenty of treats for our girl so we all left happy.
