The Russell Animal Hospital is a full-service medical/surgical hospital well-equipped to meet your pet’s health needs. We are co-founders of the Capital Area Veterinary Emergency Service clinic located here in Concord, New Hampshire and can triage your pet as necessary to this facility in the event of an after hours emergency or when 24 hour attended critical care is appropriate.

Once a week a board certified cardiologist has appointments at our hospital for cardiology consultation and ultrasonography cases.

The mission of the Russell Animal Hospital is to fulfill the needs of our clients and their pets by providing high quality health care services through a responsive professional and support staff with an emphasis on individual attention and commitment.

The Russell Animal Hospital is Established by Dr. Fay Russell in 1927, the Russell Animal Hospital began as a mixed practice servicing area farmers and pet owners. The original hospital was started in a barn that had served as a livery service for St. Paul’s school and the practice, having gone through many modifications and now a companion animal practice, continues at the same address.

X.C. Always have a good experience there. Unfortunately, it's difficult to schedule an appointment with a vet. You have to do it plan it weeks in advance.

A.C. Friendly staff and vets, clean office, fast test results. I am very happy with this place. Dr Fronts is professional, she saved my dog's life. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

A.R. I was a new pet owner and went here not knowing anything. They are very friendly and knowledgeable here. They also offer a affordable option for pet care.

A.N. We recently had to get a health certificate for our cat. It’s a very complicated process and not all vets would take it on. VCA Russell was able to give us an appointment in our tight timeline, and had all of the materials ready to go when I arrived. They knew the whole process like serious professionals.. Meaghan L was exceptionally awesome. She was a fantastic communicator and her level of care for me and my cat were unparalleled. She was so prepared for the appointment and process. After my appointment, she called to update me on the status of the certificate. I can’t say enough about how great she is.. Definitely go to this vet practice!

S.T. Staff always seem to be upbeat and positive. Willing to help as soon as you enter the facility. They have been great taking care of our chocolate lab. Taking their time with appts and willing to listen. When making appts. over the phone staff is always pleasant.

Our dog has had a cough for two weeks (suspected kennel cough from daycare), and we couldn’t get her into our primary vet, but she has been seen at Russell before so we figured we’d try to call and have her seen. We were turned away and told that with kennel cough they just “monitor anyway. ” After persistently calling our primary VCA, we were able to get a last minute appt. They now suspect she has pneumonia. We have been pleased with VCA Russell until this point when our 8 month old puppy was just turned away and we weren’t even listened to about her symptoms, or they weren’t willing to lay eyes on her. Thankfully someone else was. We will not be returning for care.

K.B. I boarded both of my puppies here 4th of July weekend and they were so well taken care of while I was gone! Would definitely use them again- thanks to all the staff!
