Our goal here at Atwood Animal Hospital has always been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional client service and veterinary health care. Emergency & Urgent Care

We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such a snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency. If an emergency happens when we are not open call OSVS 401-886-6787 they are a 24 hour hospital.

We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening, but you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment. Our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.

A.L. Absolutely the best! The vet techs, vets, and reception are the most wonderful and caring people. I have one dog that doesn't like other dogs, so they help to make sure he gets to his room safely. They always clearly communicate my options, what to expect, how different options are priced. I always feel that they put my animals first and are conscientious of my budget. I truly feel they go out of their way to make sure my animals and I are taken care of. I highly recommend them!

A.D.J. This place deserves so much recognization. My kitty Athena had been limping for almost 4 days. It was so heartbreaking seeing her like that. Called multiple places and could not get anywhere to take a look at her. They booked me an appointment early the next day. The staff are very friendly and caring. They took really good care of her, Dr. Lauren gave her medicine and 3 hours later she has been feeling much better. She is running around everywhere again and playing just like how she used to. 100% recommend coming here. They do an amazing job and it’s clear they love what they do and care very much for the pets. Big Thank You to Dr. Lauren for taking such good care of Athena and helping her feel much better.

J.F. Best vet I've met in over 20 years! Very caring, knowledgeable, and understanding. Doesn't try and charge for unnecessary tests, etc. We had an emergency with our 11y. o. diabetic chihuahua and if it weren't for this place and the vet who cared for him, I truly believe he wouldn't have made it! Ill never take him anywhere else! Also good to know their hours are very convenient. From early morning to later evening. Excellent and caring staff!

T.L.C.M. Polpetto "Meatball" is always loving on the most awesome staff they have! Everyone is so caring & upbeat, even I leave in a good mood. LOL! I HIGHLY recommend this facility. Docs take their time to explain everything to you. If your on the hunt for a place.. THIS facility is THE BEST! My 2 cats Chance & Hazel are patients as well.

E.O. The most amazing veterinary staff my wife and I have ever encountered! We recently put down our 12 year old boxer shyanne and it was the most beautiful experience ever. They were so wonderful and provided us with the most peaceful parting possible! The last year or two of her life we're up and down and they did everything possible to extend her life and make her comfortable! Shyanne Loved every staff member at the Atwood animal hospital and it was very clear by the care they provided her with that the feelings were very much mutual! D.S. I've only started to take Sally to VCA Atwood after vet Dr. O'Donnell set up practice here. She's a wonderful doctor and the staff working with her have been fantastic!
