The Feline Medical Center [FMC] was established in 1995 as Reno’s first and Northern Nevada’s premier cat exclusive veterinary hospital. Pursing his passion for all cats, Scott A. Thompson DVM sold his two prior veterinary hospitals in Redding California for one simple reason, “I no longer felt comfortable bringing my own cats to my own hospitals because of the barking dogs!” Dr. Scott A. Thompson selected the Caughlin Ranch Shopping Center for this 2,880 sq. ft. facility to bring his now 32 years of Veterinary practice experience to Reno.

In addition to being committed to raising the standard of feline healthcare in Northern Nevada, Dr Thompson has also invested much of his time and resources establishing the personnel who share his mission for cats and their families. Our combined Veterinary staff provides 52 years Veterinary knowledge and experience; 25 years of that has been dedicated exclusively on cats! Equal time and resources have allowed the FMC to equip the hospital with an incredible array of ever-evolving diagnostic and therapeutic instruments, tactics and protocols.

M.M. We have been here almost a dozen times for everything from check ups to emergencies. The vets are amazing, the techs are fantastic, and the office staff are friendly and efficient. Plus, they have kitties lounging in the waiting area! Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

F.D.O. They helped my kitty with mouth infection. She more active now she eats more and started to groom herself. I could not be happier. Thank you ?.

C.M. Caring vets and staff. They went above and beyond for my sweet Snowshoes. Unfortunately she passed from cancer but I will not forget the kindness, willingness to help even on days off, and the above and beyond efforts to try to save our baby. I appreciate you all so much.

K.T. Recently moved to Carson City, but have always taken my 14 year old cat Stoli to a cat only vet if I could, so made the drive up to Reno to take her in for some medical concerns I was having. I've taken her in twice now and Dr. Fleming handled her tortitude well and was very gentle with her. He was always upfront with the cost of things and gave me the pros and cons of each option he thought could help her. All the ladies I have dealt with at the front desk or when calling are kind and helpful, but Kelly is the absolute nicest and most organized I have ever seen in a vet's office. I've been in there about 4 times at this point (and called more than that) and even when they are really busy she is always polite and kind and super efficient. I feel comfortable that they will help me keep my furbaby as healthy and happy as possible in her golden years. -Kelly and Stoli Thoennes.

S. They focus solely on cats which is what I like when I bring my Lunie in for her checkups. You can tell they really care for your kitties. Awesome staff and great doctors. Dr. Fleming is knowledgeable, funny, and has your kitty's best interest.
