At Memphis Animal Clinic we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.

We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas.

Establish and maintain a caring relationship with our clients by providing the highest quality of health care to their pet companions. Our vision is to expand our physical facility while surpassing the quality of health care provided to our patients.

Our History

Memphis Animal Clinic was established in the early 1930s by Dr. Midaugh. Through the 40s and 50s it was remodeled by Dr. JL Wright. During the late 60s and early 70s it was operated by Dr. Opfer. Since April 1, 1976 Dr. Stephen R Tower has been the veterinarian and owner. Today Memphis Animal Clinic is a small animal hospital with a variety of services to meet the pet owner's needs.

A. I love this place. They’re so good with my babies, and you can tell that they love what they do. Everyone is so nice and personable. I tragically lost two cats within a year, and they were so sweet and supportive while I made two of the hardest decisions in my life. They even sent me a card with my little Bella’s paw prints. I will always recommend them.

A.M. The Memphis Animal Clinic are always helpful and answer all of my questions when my dog has any health issues. I can call them up and be reassured of any problems I have because they truly care about my dog's health. The staff are all nice and welcoming, they don't make me feel like just any customer.

L.C. I cannot recommend this office enough! The facility is clean and well-kept. The staff are some of the sweetest people and care deeply about their patients. The doctor was patient and thorough with my kitty Tom's first wellness check. Both she and the assistant answered my questions and eased all possible concerns I had. We will definitely be back when the time comes.

Recently moved to the Memphis area, & needed a new vet especially since my dog had an urgent issue, they were able to identify the issue quickly & resolve it with exit meds and etc. They were very friendly, informative, & thorough. My dog needed a very uncomfortable exam & they even went out of their way to give her kisses and hugs to help calm her down to complete the vital examination. I truly appreciate all the extra effort! I would definitely recommend Dr. Clayton & her staff.

M.J. Dr Johnson was absolutely fantastic. We took Apollo in after a visit to the emergency center. She worked him in for an appointment, kept us updated through the days and offered reassurance throughout. The rest of the team was amazing as well and so kind and understanding during this stressful time.
