Horses:
For reversal of xylazine effects: a) 4 mg/kg slow IV (4 ml/220 lb. of body weight); administration rate should approximate1 ml/second. (Package Insert; Tolazine®¯Lloyd Laboratories)

NOTE: If reversal is warranted, the high concentration (100 mg/ml) of the veterinary drugmay make accurate dosing difficult; yohimbine or the human-labeled tolazoline product(25 mg/ml) may be safer alternatives than Tolazine® (100 mg/ml). Note: Tolazoline isnot approved for use in dogs and cats in the USA and the US manufacturer does notrecommend its use
