Dr. Marcoux purchased Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital in 1978. It was originally called Lawrence-Methuen Animal Hospital. We are a companion animal practice limited primarily to dogs and cats. We are a member hospital of the American Animal Hospital Association. In order to be a member hospital we are required to undergo periodic inspections by an A.A.H.A. inspection team to ensure that we are complying with the high quality standards that are required of member hospitals. We feel fortunate to have an experienced team of staff members that is dedicated to providing our patients with the best care possible.

We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local referral practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. Our facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels.

At Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.

B.J. I have been taking our "family members' here since we had our first cat in 1986. Dr. Marcoux is the main vet and is kind, sympathetic and compassionate. He gives me an honest assessment every year with my 18 year old cat as to whether it's time to go or not. The various assistants and other vets who have come and gone over the years have been great as well. And the office is good at recommending other vets who treat the animals they don't (such as reptiles and small mammals). I just looked up the number because I'm making an appointment now, and I decided after years of good treatment I should give them a good review. Thanks, Pleasant Valley!
