We are here to help pet owners by providing the best medical service possible in a comfortable, pet-friendly setting.

The clinic is owned by Dr. Deam, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Kansas State University. She is a 1980 graduate of K-State's College of Veterinary medicine and has been practicing veterinary medicine in Platte County for more than 20 years.

Her colleague, Dr. Sackett is a 1957 K-State graduate. Dr. Sackett was in private companion animal practice from 1958 to 1994 in Claycomo. Dr. Sackett is known for his cosmetic surgery skills, including ear crops, tail docks and corrective eyelid surgery - and for his field-trial English pointers. Six of his pointers have been named National Dog of the Year by the National Bird Hunters Association.

Our groomer, June Janicke has been at the clinic over 12 years and is a valued member of our pet care team. June provides full-service grooming for all breeds of dogs. She shampoos, styles, trims nails, cleans ears and checks anal glands for every pet that comes to her. Medicated baths are also available.

June is a professional groomer and member of The National Dog Groomers Association of America.

Because we are committed to excellence in the care, comfort and health of your pet, the clinic is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. That means we adhere to the high quality standards of care established by the association. The clinic voluntarily undergoes accreditation inspections that cover every aspect of our hospital. An accrediting team reviews our surgery, laboratory, exam facilities, pet health records, cleanliness, dental and nursing care, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology and some 300 other areas.

B.H. The best group! They always have time for my 2 pups. I also take my dachshunds for chiropractor visits!

L.K. Our dog tore one of his dew claws late in the morning on a Saturday. Our vet couldn't get him in and had recommended after hours animal hospitals. I didn't want to wait 4 hours to get seen, so I googled for other places. The ladies at the front desk were fantastic and they squeezed us into their schedule. They didn't over treat the problem and all of the staff was super friendly. Highly recommend giving them a call!

J.W. I've found Northland in my veterinary search for titters testing and holistic medicine. They are fairly hard to beat across the board in my experience of several vets in the northland. I believe my previous vet might be cheaper but they don't offer all the services and honestly I didn't trust the knowledge base like I do with Dr Roberts. That being said, price is still very good comparatively speaking to vets in the area. I have an allergy specialist that has completely disagreed with my previous vet and totally approved of the medication this vet has given my allergy boy. The bedside manors are solid. Over all, I think you would be hard pressed to find a better vet in the area.

M.G. The staff was great. We had to have our Izzy gall bladder removed. The 12 yr old girl is have a pup again. Thanks for saving her life. I recommend them for all your veterinary needs and grooming needs.

C.L. NAH was so kind to work my sweet cat as a new patient into a busy Friday and treat him with such care. Dr. Roberts, Jaime, and the rest of the staff handled his operation expertly, gave us good advice, and patiently answered all of my questions. They even called the next day to check up on him. ? I feel relieved for my only pet to have a place that we can trust to care for him like they do.

I have been a client since adopting my 2 dogs over 6 years ago and am very happy with the care my dogs receive. I also absolutely must mention the staff and Bailey the groomer! They are SO nice and really go the extra mile to be sure we have the best experience possible, the clinic is so fortunate to have these wonderful employees! ❤️.

B.M. I cannot say enough good things about this practice! Our dogs are a big part of our lives, and our family. it takes a lot for me to have full confidence and trust when it comes to them and their care. Dr Roberts is an amazing vet and has surrounded herself with a first class team of people who know animals and what needs to be done for them. They have been amazing at taking care of my two Goldens and reassuring me through all of their care! If you’re looking for a vet, they are the best in Kansas City.

A.L.H. My fur son Java had to stay here for 7 nights and almost 8 days. He had eaten part of a towel/blanket at his boarding place when we were out of town and we took him here, they did multiple x-rays and really monitored him well. He is back to his normal self! He seemed to love this place and I love Dr. Roberts. She was very informative and positive. Though my husband and I came in the first day in so much despair and sadness that he may need surgery, she took it day by day with us by not jumping to surgery since he was getting better and better. The staff there is super friendly, and Jean, who is pictured here putting Java back in his kennel who took them on walks and cooked for them was so helpful, gracious and kind. Java seemed to really like her and she even offered to make him an omelette with the stuff I brought him because he was having issues with eating and she was so kind to him and I can tell he really was comfortable there and was well cared for. Also I noticed that Jean and whoever else there kept the facility really nice and clean. Java had made the floors all messy with his slobbering and when I left for a walk with him and came back, she not only had emptied the trash already but also mopped up the floor. I am so happy we discovered this place and they will be our vet for our dogs. Thank you Animal Clinic of Boardwalk Square!
