All Creatures Pet Care Center has been a part of the Porterville community in one form or another since 1964. At that time, it was a mixed animal practice (companion animals as well as livestock). In 1975 Dr. Richard Merrill purchased the small animal portion of the practice and Westwood Veterinary Hospital was born. The hospital operated out of a small converted house from that time until 1992 when the new building was completed. We went from 2200 square feet to 6700 square feet, and became All Creatures Pet Care Center. Dr. Merrill retired 1 year after completion of the hospital, leaving it in the capable hands of Dr. Marcella Roan and Dr. David Imbach . All Creatures Pet Care Center was an Award Of Merit Winner in Veterinary Economics Magazine's design contest in 1994. We were a feature article in the September 1994 issue.

Dr. Roan is a 1983 Graduate of Oklahoma State University . Originally from Coalinga, she joined the practice the same year.

Dr. Imbach is a 1986 graduate of University of California-Davis. He also joined the practice right after graduating. Born and raised in Strathmore, he was employed by Dr. Merrill as a high school student.

J.C. Very good experience they got me and my pet in next day they did schedule me for Thursday but told me to call at 8am the next day for same day appointment possible, after another vet in town canceled us twice the day before our appointment so my fur baby already waited a week for the first canceled appointment, im sure they were great vets also but the main vet had a home emergency that canceled all that office's appointment.

I had to take my cat in due to some swelling on his neck a while back and this was the only place that I could find that could take me in as a walkin to get him seen he had some bacterial infection from scratching his neck so much with his nails that he cut himself and it got infected but they helped me out and my cat got better within a week time really glad they took us in I couldn't find no other place!

S.M. For all Veterinary needs ? or end of life services for your lil furry babies, mans best friend, companions of all sorts, this is the place the utmost compationate and caring crew/staff ill never go anywheres else!

We brought our dog Pixie in because she had been losing a lot of weight and was drinking tons of water a day and unable to control her bladder anymore due to the amount of water she was drinking. Everyone I encountered at All Creatures was kind and helpful. They ran some tests that day and the next and were able to figure out what was going on with Pixie and the doctor called me personally to let me know she is diabetic and had an infection. When I went in to get Pixie the nurse walked me through exactly how to give Pixie her insulin and antibiotics and made sure I had everything I needed to take care of her. The whole process was pricey but I'm assuming it's probably that way at most vets. I'm just so happy and relieved that they were able to help our family dog and did so in such a kind and patient manner. I highly recommend All Creatures Pet Care Center!

K.L.J. Great place and people. I needed to travel to Porterville on May 9 with two days notice. I have a 45 pound un-trained stubborn hard headed Border Collie known as Turbo the Terrible who has separation anxiety or whatever. So I had to take him along but needed a place to stay for a night that would not cost more than my motel room. I came across All Creatures Pet Care Center by a Google search. This is a Pet Veterinary Clinic and Hospital with Kennel Services. I spoke with them on the phone about cost and any requirements. Prices vary depending on the dog run size I think I had a 2x2x7 foot size choice of your food or theirs and how much and what time to feed. Well I feel at $25 for the night I got a great deal. They did require 4 shots I didn't have proof of but they called and got proof of 2 shots and I was able to get the other 2 shots done there. So 1 night 2 shots and a quick physical It was about $65 total. The ladies were friendly helpful and thorough both on the phone and in person. I did get to see how and where Turbo was kept it was a clean and well maintained and the air was fresh and circulating. So I can easily rank 5*****+* wether you live or are traveling to Porterville Ca and need services for your pet or critter give them a call.
