Services:
Wellness exams and preventative care:
We recommend a complete physical exam every 6 months. Lots of changes can occur that are not easily detected by your pets outward appearance, especially as your pet gets older. Preventative health care recommendations are made based on examination findings and your pets individual needs and lifestyle, which you help us determine. This may include blood, urine or fecal tests, vaccinations, dietary or exercise advice and the lifestyle changes.
Senior Care:
Older patients commonly experience the same problems that older humans do, including heart problems, diabetes, arthritis, chronic renal insufficiency, dental problems, hearing and vision loss, etc. Many of these conditions can be treated to extend and improve your older pet's quality of life.
Dental Care:
Healthy teeth play a major role in the well being of your pet. Bad breath may be a sign of dental disease. Gingivitis, tartar and periodontal disease can release bacteria into the bloodstream which
can stress internal organs, and lead to their disease. Starting with your pet's first exam our doctors will check your pets mouth for any signs of discomfort or disease Your doctor will set up an individualized plan for your pets healthy teeth and mouth.
Acupuncture:
Acupuncture is known to have good therapeutic effects in a wide variety of animal diseases. Although pain moderation is the more common use in veterinary medicine, it has much wider applications. It is generally considered to be beneficial for such conditions as seizures, allergies and incontinence as well as many others. Consult your pets veterinarian regarding specifics.
Ultrasound:
We offer in house ultrasound of the abdomen to evaluate internal organs. This can help us diagnose your pets medical condition without the trauma of surgery.
General surgery:
Our veterinarians are trained in state of the art surgical techniques should your pet require a surgical procedure. We offer a full range of soft tissue surgeries from routine spays and neuters to more advanced procedures including cystotomy (bladder), abdominal exploratory, mass removal and c-sections, among others. Our surgeries are performed in a state of the art sterile surgery suite. Pain management is very important to us and we utilize protocols established by a board certified veterinary anesthesiologist. All patients are prepped for surgery and an IV catheter is placed and fluids administered during the procedure.
Laboratory:
On site laboratory allows us to perform diagnostic lab testing to help determine the best treatment plan for your pets medical condition. Should more advanced testing be needed, we are connected to multiple outside labs including Montana State University and nationally with Antech and the University of Texas.
Nutritional counseling:
Whether your pet is fighting a weight problem or requires a special diet in conjunction with health care management and treatment, our staff will counsel you on the many nutritional options that are available to pet owners.
Chemotherapy:
When cancer is diagnosed in a pet the course of action is suddenly unfamiliar and scary and owners are often unsure of the next step to take. Chemotherapy options are available for many forms of cancer.
