Annual Wellness Visits
Your pet needs more than just yearly vaccines. During an annual office visit, doctors will examine your pet for overall health and nutrition, and advise you about any possible problems to come. The doctor will also test your pet's blood and stool for parasites, and look for irregularities in the lab work that could indicate other internal problems. An annual wellness exam can play a major role in a healthy, long life for your pet.
Puppy and Kitten Care
Puppies and kittens need a series of vaccines to build a strong, healthy immune system. An appropriate vaccine schedule begins at 6-8 weeks of age. They require boosters of the FVRCP (kittens), or the DHPP (puppies) vaccine every 3-4 weeks until they reach 16 weeks. At 16 weeks the rabies vaccine is given. During these few months, your new pet should receive a fecal test to check for intestinal parasites, and get started with flea/tick prevention, as well as heartworm prevention. MSVH offers everything your puppies and kittens need for a healthy start in our discounted wellness packages.
Parasite Control
Though often overlooked, parasite prevention is a key part of your pet's health. External parasites such as fleas and ticks are not only uncomfortable for your pet, but they transmit other problems, such as tapeworms, ehrlichia, lyme disease, and heartworm disease. MSVH offers products to control or eliminate these risks to your pets.
Senior Care
As your pet ages, nutritional and physical needs change. Dental disease, cancer, arthritis, kidney/heart disease, and thyroid conditions are major concerns to your aging pet. However, early detection and treatment can add many comfortable years to your pet's life. Ask us about senior health screening for your dog or cat.
