Best Friends Animal Hospital is Shawnee Oklahoma’s holistic and traditional pet care center. Our large facility is a convenient place to bring your pet for routine or emergency pet care, boarding, grooming, bathing, or premium pet food.

Dr. Brad Roach has been a leader in Pottawatomie County’s veterinary community for 19 years. Dr. Roach is a member of Kiwanis Club and the Boy Scouts of America. Dr. Roach and his wife, Lori have eight children, seven dogs, two cats, two horses, and a parrot. In order to spend time with his family, the hospital is open the first Saturday of each month, and then to existing clients with pet emergencies on the remaining Saturdays.

Among the support staff at Best Friends Animal Hospital are well-trained, professional staff members including two veterinary technicians, two receptionists, one veterinary Assistant, a client services manager and a patient services manager.

L.B. Great care! Friendly & pet loving staff. Dr. Roach is great with people and pets. However the clinics prices have really gone up, and it is far too expensive to take our pets there now.

K.J. I love BFAC for my dog Kyoto! Matter of fact we felt like family there! It's not just for the pets, it's for the owners of these pets as well! Just knowing 1 of their fuzzy furry family friends are in safe hands! Kyoto loved the staff there! & I did as well! We happened to move in the city area! I was told there would be the best friend animal clinic in our area! So far we haven't had any luck locating 1 close by ?! I was so disappointed! Because everyone there @ best friend animal clinic Kyoto truly loved! Which I felt if he felt this being like a secondary home so did I! He loved everyone there on staff! I would truly recommend anyone to take their pets there! They are in safe hands! We just miss not getting to see everyone there! I know if Kyoto saw them again I know he would remember everyone there on staff! I'm hoping since it's harder to get him back @ best friend animal clinic area that he can be seen @ another facility he can feel @ home like he did there @ BFAC! So far we are still searching. But I know it's never going to be the same there!

They are compassionate, and extremely knowledgeable - they never go for a cookie cutter fix, but look at the issues your pet is facing and outline options for treatment. T.B. My first visit to Best Friends Animal Clinic was wonderful! The staff were very friendly and caring. Dr Roach was very thorough and gentle when examining my cat. She needed a tooth pulled, and rather than make us come back, he worked her in and took care of her. We will definitely be back with our other pets!

B.W. My dog was diagnosed with a lung cancer in January 2020. We have been seeing a local vet for cancer treatments using a SanaWave machine. When their machine broke down, I contacted the manufacturer because I did not want him to miss any treatments. They reached out to Bets Friends Animal Clinic to see if they could help.. The folks at Best Friends Animal Clinic responded with open arms. We drove the 10. 5 hours to Shawnee. We arrived late in the afternoon and were met with a very warm reception. Dr. Roach gave Murphy a brief exam and we started the SanaWave treatment a few minutes later.. I am very impressed with their holistic approach. Dr. Roach made some suggestions for treating my dog. I brought those back and talked to my local vet about his suggestions. We will be adding these to his treatment plan.. These folks are terrific. All have a wonderful bedside manner and you can see the love they have for our pet friends. I could not asked for better care for my dog. Thank you for rolling out the red carpet for Murphy!

Because of Dr. Roach's knowledge, resources and genuine care and concern I was able to have 6 more months with one of my hounds after he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Dr. Roach's bedside manner with my fur babies has always been kind and compassionate; kindness and compassion are evident in his staff as well. Dr. Roach has always responded to emergency calls quickly. Dr. Roach has never tried "pad" my bills with unnecessary test and treatments and has always made me feel like I'm an important part of my pets healthcare team by discussing treatment options that provide the highest level of care while helping me stay within a budget..
