D.T. Very professional service and extremely helpful every time I have an appointment or have to call! It’s so worth a 2 hour drive and I highly recommend them! Thank you for your great services!
R.O. Friendly staff who care about our dog. Appointments run on time, which is nice if you like to not be kept waiting. Dr. Rapp takes time to explain things and makes you feel like you can make an informed decision. We like them enough to drive 30 minutes from home to their office!
S.C. OSSVH was willing to get my pup in for an urgent situation; all staff was warm, supportive and patient with questions including reception team and vet tech Michael. And of course Dr. Gregory is excellent and really spent time explaining/teaching/guiding us as parents of a suddenly paralyzed pet. We are so grateful because we know it was no easy thing to shift the day’s appointments to fit us in so quickly when we desperately needed it.
D.H. These guys are amazing. The women at the front were so friendly and understood how anxious my dog was. The vet tech and the vet were so kind with my scared dog. The vet was very thorough, addressed all of my concerns, and answered all of my questions. I couldn't ask for a better place to take my dog.
C.R. Wonderful place to take your pets! Caring staff and great Vets who talk you through issues! We love Dr Rapp for cat knowledge at a'Blaze Siberians here.. but all the Vets are great!
M.D. It's truly hard for me to put into words the compassion of every single staff member at this hospital. When we first got the diagnosis of lymphoma for our dog a few months ago, this was the only veterinarian (oncology) location that was able to get her in to start treatment within a few days. Dr. Krueger gave us 3 more months with our pup, and we are so grateful for the support she gave us in those months (unfortunately our dog had the form of lymphoma that is more resistant to chemo). Dr. Krueger was kind, patient, understanding, and incredibly accommodating to us. I felt like she was honest with us every step of the way, and she gave us the best advice on next steps. It felt like she had our dog's best interest at heart. When our dog's time came, the staff set up an area outside so that we could be with her (even though my boyfriend had covid) until the very end. While our dog never reached remission, this hospital gave us a few more months with her and we are incredibly grateful to them for that.
D.B. After my dog, Autumn, had an emergency splenectomy performed at another hospital and her biopsy came back as hemangiosarcoma, we were told by two different doctors to cherish our last moments with our girl. Autumn bounced back after surgery and looking at her, you would never guess she has cancer. Well, my mom and I refused to give up on her, and I called around to many different hospitals -- we were turned away by two due to it being COVID and them not taking on any new clients/patients at the time, which is totally understandable. but then I found Olney-Sandy Spring Veterinary Hospital. They are about an hour away from where we live, but it is well worth the hike.. When I called, I was emotional and spoke to this lovely lady, Kathy. She helped me feel calm and taken care of while making my appointment. I am forever grateful for the compassion she showed me that day -- she could tell I was upset, made a point to make a connection with me, and didn't just ask me for information about my pet. After sending in Autumn's records, we were quickly scheduled for her first chemotherapy consult.. Dr. Krueger beautifully explained our options and that she thought Autumn would be a good candidate for chemotherapy. After every chemotherapy appointment she has there, I get a phone call from either Dr. Krueger or Autumn's amazing chemotherapy nurse, Alyssa, on how she was that day; I also get an email from Dr. Krueger with a great summary of her day and what our next steps are. Alyssa sent us this beautiful photo of Autumn and let us know that she enjoyed her hot dogs and beef flavored pill pockets while she was there. Since I am a vet tech myself, it is hard for me to let go but I never had that concern here since I know she is loved and in amazing hands. <3. Autumn was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma in March and was given 1-3 months to live. It is now August and all her follow up diagnostics are clear -- we are cherishing every day we have with our girl. Her quality of life is simply the way it was before any of this happened, and I do not think any of it would be possible without Dr. Krueger, Alyssa, and the rest of Olney-Sandy Spring Veterinary Hospital's staff. <3.
