A.G. I like Sherman Oaks Vet and I think the staff is nice and doctors are really sweet. I have had some feelings on cleanliness in the past which at one point was not good however I’ll spare details since it’s gotten better. I think this vet is fine for check ups and regulars and would probably continue to come here for this.
G.H. My 16-year old Shih Tsu developed chronic irritable bowel syndrome after hip surgery in July 2022. Doctor Richter and his staff have helped my little guy improve TREMENDOUSLY so we ended the year on a very positive note with a bright looking future! EVERYONE is extremely professional and quick to get him whatever he needs! I am EXTREMELY satisfied with all they've accomplished in such a short time! My guy and I are over the moon!
W.A. Have been bringing my elderly cat here for years and I’ve got no complaints. The folks here have always been professional, attentive and transparent about everything related to my pet’s treatment. My cat is an adult rescue so it’s great to know there’s a place I can take her that’s knowledgeable and friendly and can identify the kinds of things that tend to happen to an aging pet.. The clinic can get pretty busy so I’d say it’s worth making an appointment if possible. I’m aware that owners can come in as walk-ins (which is cool! ) but I’ve only ever come in for scheduled appointments outside of emergencies. ? ?.
D.M. I ended up unexpectedly fostering a senior cat whose owner had died suddenly. The cat began rapidly declining and needed to see a vet as soon as possible. I am not a regular client of Sherman Oaks Veterinary Group, yet when I called they simply said, "bring him in, " no questions asked, they would find a way.. Dr. Slaton was professional and compassionate, amazingly generous with his time - even though the clinic was so full and busy when I walked in (pre-holiday vaccinations and other end-of-year business) I could barely hear myself think. I can't imagine how the staff could function in the craziness of that day but somehow they did.. Although the outcome in this case was a sad one, it was made so much easier by the kindness of Dr. Slaton and the team at Sherman Oaks Veterinary Group. I am humbled and thankful to have received their services.. A NOTE TO ALL: Please be careful when reading reviews and judging this veterinary clinic, as well as so many others. I have noticed many people complaining about "waiting" and "rude" front desk service at veterinary offices in general. I feel this is often unfair. Anyone who has been to a human emergency room or doctor's office has experienced this from time-to-time; certain cases just take priority, and sometimes the rest of us must wait a bit. I know in this case I ended up taking up a room that someone else technically deserved because they were "there first", but honestly, I am so grateful the team prioritized the situation with this poor kitty. I know everyone in the waiting room on that day would have gladly stepped aside had they known what was happening because they would wish the same for themselves, if and when they find themselves in the same position.. Thank you again to Dr. Slaton and the Sherman Oaks Veterinary Group. XO.
D.S. Dr. Cohen is amazing. So kind and also comes from a holistic as well as medical approach. Only downside is that this place is so very very busy, sometimes with an appointment you can wait a long time. They take walk ins which a lot of places don’t, which is why they get so busy. But wonderful Vets and staff.
M.G. This vet saved our dogs life. She ate some poison and had to stay overnight and get treatment.. We called our normal vet at around 5pm and they basically told us too bad because of the time.. Sherman oaks said we close soon but we can see you! The doctor and tech gave us updates all night and we couldn’t be more thankful for the care and love they gave to our fur child.. We are switching to the vet for sure! Thank you from our family.
A.M. I took my boss' dog Ramsey so a doctor could have a look at his paw. They accepted us without an appointment and took very good care of Ramsey. He usually doesn't like people but he interacted very well with everyone there. Everyone is so friendly. A great place to take your pet. I will begin to take my own dogs there as well. I usually do not write reviews, but I was very pleased with the service.
