Founded by Dr. James E. Boyd, The Bellevue Animal Hospital, originally located on Mission St in Old Town Bellevue, was established in 1963.

The Bellevue Animal Hospital was inducted into the AAHA accreditation program in 1973. In order to become a AAHA accredited hospital, a hospital must comply with AAHA's unique list of standards. Thus for 36 years the hospital has been honored to serve as a member hospital of AAHA. This means we maintain the highest standards of veterinary care for our patients.

In 1984, a new building was built on 25th & Cornhusker. At that time there were 4 doctors in the practice. As the practice grew so did the staff. Presently we have 7 doctors on staff. In September of 2003 Dr. Boyd sold the practice to Dr. Campbell, Dr. Rock-Paul, Dr. Pfeiffer and Dr. Truax.

Our mission at the Bellevue Animal Hospital is to provide the highest quality medical and surgical care to our patients and offer the best possible services to our clients. Our clients are friends as well as customers, and we value their continued trust and goodwill.

J.W. We have three cats and take them all here! They have such a wonderful staff who takes care of our animals every visit.. Recommend you enroll into their text notifications as I was able to get appointments and reminders for all three of our pets. Online system is great too if you choose to make a account.

H.H. The veterinarian is such an expert, and she treats my dogs like they are the only dogs on the planet. Clean clinic, terrific desk and vet assistant. I have taken my dogs to Bellevue Animal Hospital for 20+ years. It’s great.

A.P. Dr Truax has helped my family through the passing of two pets. The first was a shock and very sudden but his kindness made it just a little easier for my husband and I to get through. The second was my moms 16 year old cat who was her companion since he was born. His demeanor and grace is just so appreciated. You can tell He cares deeply for our pets and the people who love them so much.

Bellevue Animal Hospital was the most professional of all of them, and very reasonably priced, even though they had the best technology. In every possible category, ten stars across the board. B.M. Dr Rock-Paul and her staff are amazing and they truly get that fur babies are so important to their families! She is a great doctor. I wouldn’t dream of taking my baby anywhere else.

A. The staff here are beyond compassionate and I know they treat every animal here with as much care as they need. I took my girlie here for some foot and hip issues and Dr. Truax always tried to give out as many options there were for treating her. Ultimately I had to make the decision to put her to sleep. Both Dr. Truax and one of the vet assistants made sure to make her last moments peaceful while I held her. I chose to have her cremated and the cost was extremely reasonable. Great quality urn, clay paw print and they’ll even keep some of your pups fur. Also, weeks later the staff sent me a condolences card; very thoughtful. In addition, Dr. Truax made an incredible donation in the name of my girlie, Zena; truly amazing. Thank you all so much for your time and service. I highly highly recommend anyone to take their pets here for care.
