M.H. A few months ago, I brought my dog, who was presenting symptoms of GI distress, into the Village Vets emergency clinic in Decatur. After a four hour wait (not the staff’s fault), she didn’t make it through that night, despite the extensive testing and treatment provided by the vets and staff present that night. This review has nothing to do with the treatment she received - I truly think everyone there that night did all they could do to provide the most extensive treatment possible. This review is due to the lack of communication from staff after the fact. I called numerous times to try to get a copy of my dog’s chart/details of what happened and those requests fell on deaf ears apparently. It has been 6 months since my 3 year old dog died traumatically day-of and I still do not have the full details of what happened. Everyone whose pet is their family understands how important closure is, and despite spending nearly two thousand dollars that night with village vets, I can’t get a simple call back. Again, I believe that the staff at village vets treated my dog with extreme care while she was hospitalized with them. However, the lack of communication after the fact has made healing next to impossible. As someone who has previously worked in the veterinary field for numerous years, I expected more compassion and honestly from the staff at Village Vets.
J.F. I had a great experience at the Village Vets with my cat. She had a non-emergency, yet urgent, situation and they were able to get us in with almost no wait. The doctor was thorough, transparent about pricing, explained everything to me fully and clearly, and provided my cat with wonderful care. I hope to never have a similar situation with a pet again, but if I do I’ll surely come back here.
M.K. I took my dog in tonight after he ate a garden glove a couple of hours earlier. He was taken back immediately, given an injection to induce emesis, vomited out the glove and was as good as new before an hour had gone by. And I was charged only $200! The staff was so wonderful and caring. I'm thrilled with the care we received.
    V. A week after adopting a puppy, he came down with kennel cough which turned to pneumonia. He refused to eat, drink, walk, and had a terrible cough. We were panicking! We were referred to Village Vets late at night and brought him in. They decided with his condition to keep him for three nights. We missed him dearly but knew he was in amazing hands! The staff were kind, professional, and most of all understanding of all of my questions regarding his condition. They allowed us to visit the second day to say hello to our little boy which was comforting to each of us. I am so thankful for their 24/7 services and attention to detail and care! He is doing SO much better thanks to Village Vets and their expertise.
T.M. Brought my dog in for his shots and the people there were amazing, especially the techs that helped me out. If you ever go there hope that you get Kaylah, Imani, Zac or Brandon, they'll make sure your pet is very well taken care of.
D.D. As a first-time pet owner, I was very upset when my 9-week puppy started vomiting. My friend recommended The Village Vets so I brought Scout to the ER. Amber in registration was very helpful in explaining the check-in process and what to expect, and her understanding and calm demeanor eased my stress level. Alyssa, the technician, was very gentle and attentive to Scout, and I felt confident that she was in good hands with Alyssa. Dr. Jones called me to discuss his findings and recommendations, and he also told me he was on-call the following night should I need to contact him again. I appreciated that the staff explained the course of action each step of the way and quoted me a price for each treatment. The entire ER visit process at The Village Vets was a positive experience for me and my puppy, and I will definitely come here again in the future should the need arise.
