R.B. My entire experience was wonderful! The receptionists were very friendly and helpful scheduling my appointments and checking in and out. I loved that I got to work with the same doctor/ technician team at my appointments. Dr. Fink is an excellent surgeon and has really cool models to help people understand what’s going on with their pets. Best of all, my dog loves going there so I know she is being treated well!
E.F. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Peter Lotsikas and his team at Skylos (both locations! ). My dog Jadzia needed corrective surgery for her patellas (knees) and had one done in December 2021 and the other done January 2023. What I love about Peter is not only is he the best surgeon for this particular procedure, he is also so easy to talk to. He's so passionate about his work and yet is still super approachable and willing to take the time to explain everything and make sure your pup has the best chance at a full recovery.
B.T. Skylos staff (Frederick Office) is very professional and understanding. Dr. Kennedy has performed Cruciate Ligament repair (TPLO) on my dog Mocha, her bilateral hind legs. He takes the time and explains the procedure. This time, they were able to promptly schedule Mocha for her consult and surgery. Everything went well. I have been very pleased with Mocha's results. When Mocha was recovering after her procedure her attending vet technician even offered to take a picture of Mocha in her recovery suite to help me feel at ease. When I came to pick Mocha up the next day the discharge technician went through all the home care instructions and answered any questions or concerns I had. Dr. Kennedy also spoke to me about Mocha's procedure, X-ray's and results. I would not hesitate to recommend Skylos Sports Medicine. They are an amazing practice and team.
M.R. The staff truly care for and about their patients! Our dog is excited to see the staff and that's reassuring for us. Dr. Leasure was very clear on the steps of the surgery and the whole staff has been supportive. And our dog now has a leg that is much better aligned and we hope that will lead to a better quality of life for him for the next many years.
A.M. I have been very impressed by the attentiveness and skill of all of the staff I have interacted with at Skylos. Dr Leasure, the techs and admin staff all have taken such care to make my dog and me feel comfortable and supported. My dog seemed to immediately take a shine to everyone and I really felt at ease when I was leaving her for surgery. We are three days post surgery, and I am truly impressed by how good the wound looks and how well my girl is recuperating already. I am grateful for the excellent care she has received and continues to receive.
B.M. We spent about three weeks desperately calling anyone and everyone within a 5 hour drive all to learn we should have just waited for Skylos to get us in. They managed to put us in for a TPLO sooner than expected. They were extremely professional, communicative, and resourceful! The day of surgery could not have gone any smoother and the path they set up for recovery could not be any simpler. We were not expecting their level of communication nor the ingenuity of their app.. We will forever hold our highest gratitude to the entire staff specially now seeing our boy living his best life. Just 2 months later and continuously improving but definitely looking forward to walks, hikes, and ball time.
R.H. Such a wonderful place with such wonderful people! We were referred here by our vet to check out my dogs crooked legs and were able to get a consultation fairly quickly after being on the cancellation list. The consultation went great and we set up a plan involving surgery to correct Milo’s angular limb deformity. They explained every step of the process, answered all my questions, and gave so much love to Milo along the way. Leading up to the surgery they sent over tons of helpful information about what to expect for the surgery and for home recovery. He stayed overnight after his surgery and I was able to call anytime for an update on how he was doing. Scheduling follow-ups was a breeze and it was so nice to have a regular check up to make sure he was healing okay. When he wasn’t putting much weight on his leg a couple weeks after surgery they did additional x-rays at no cost for peace of mind. Dr. Leasure was wonderful to work with and everyone there truly cares about helping your fur babies. Michelle and all the staff we interacted with went above and beyond to make the process as easy and smooth as it could be which was so wonderful in such a stressful time! We had our last check-up today but have some exercises to do and Milo should be back in action in no time.
M.F. Unfortunately both my dogs needed surgery last year during 2020. One newf had TPLO performed on each knee and my other newf had surgery on should to repair OCD plus rehab. All this happened in 4 months. I can't thank Dr. Fink and the entire staff for all they did for my dogs. It was a very stressful time for me, especially the never ending recovery. But the staff made it bearable, they helped me at every turn, they were my support and phone buddies for 8 Months. They are professional, caring, thorough, sweet, patient, kind and just amazing. We are incredibly grateful for all they did for our dogs and for us, we feel like they are part of our extended family and highly recommend this practice. ( My husband refers all Ortho cases from his job at vet to Skylos). Thank you does not seem like enough. ❤️.
