Doses - CLINDAMYCIN HCL, CLINDAMYCIN PALMITATE HCL, CLINDAMYCIN PHOSPHATE
Dogs:
For susceptible infections: a) 5.5 - 11 mg/kg PO q12h; 11 -16.5 mg/kg SQ q24h (Aronson and Aucoin 1989)
b) 5 - 11 mg/kg IM, SubQ or PO q12h avoid or reduce dose in patients with severe liverfailure (Vaden and Papich 1995)
c) 10 mg/kg PO or IM q12h (Ford and Aronson 1985)
d) 5 - 10 mg/kg PO q12h (Jenkins 1987b)
For treatment of toxoplasmosis:
a) 10 - 40 mg/kg/day PO divided tid-qid. (Murtaugh 1988)
Cats:

Client Information - Clients should be instructed to report the incidence of severe, protracted or bloody diarrhea to the veterinarian.
