AAHA-accredited, Board Certified doctors & hospital: Breton Veterinary Hospital, L.L.C. with 1 Vets located in Leonardtown, MD, provide the finest care for your pet.

Breton Veterinary Hospital opened its doors on August 28, 1990, under the direction of Dr. Lynn Fenwick. The hospital was named after her treasured Cocker Spaniel "Breton"' who had been named after Breton Bay in Leonardtown. Breton Veterinary Hospital occupied rented space until July 1991 when we moved to our new state of the art facility. A lot of time was spent in planning the new facility to make it as accommodating as possible for our clients and patients. Some new additions to help make your wait more comfortable are our cat gazebo; which helps separated our feline and canine friends, a playhouse for the children and a refreshment area. The hospital contains a full service laboratory and pharmacy as well as radiology, surgical and dental suites. We have a large treatment area and five state of the art exam rooms. Most diagnostic and treatment procedures can be handled within the hospital. Evening, weekend, and holiday emergencies are handled by the Southern Maryland Referral and Emergency Service, Inc. in Waldorf. Breton Veterinary Hospital quickly grew as did our reputation based on the sound veterinary care provided by our caring staff. In July 2003, Dr. Sarah K. Bates joined the practice.

B.B. They were great with my little Princess. She was very old and needed to go to Heaven. They were always great with her. Very caring and understanding. The were very gentle with my fur daughter. Great place.
S.W. Dr. Fenwick is very knowledgeable, gentle, compassionate, and thorough. We are please to continue care for our dogs with her. Facility clean, staff is polite and friendly.
    I. I have had the unfortunate experience of losing 2 dogs in the last 4 years. However, they were 2 vastly different experiences at 2 different vet practices. One was corporate owned. That shepherd who I loved needed 3 shots and it was so painful to watch. The entire experience still tears me up. Then there is Breton Veterinary Hospital.. They made what was inherently a difficult process so much easier than it could have been. Both me and my husband really appreciate everything Breton Vet did, from the comfortable room, to the candle and the time with our Lab mix, Buck. They put a catheter in so the shots weren't painful to a 16 year old dog who had stopped eating for the last couple weeks. When Dr. Fenwick came in the room, Buck began to relax. We talked about Buck and then she gave him an injection in the catheter to relax and he got sleepy and laid down on the rug. When we were ready she gave him the final injection and he just looked asleep. Dr. Fenwick at no time let us feel rushed and even hugged us knowing that every family member is special. She left us alone with him and let us know we could go when we were ready.. This was indeed the difference between a vet that truly cares about the furry family member and the humans and any other vet practice. There is something about being treated with dignity when going through a time that difficult that earns my respect. I very much appreciate all that Breton Veterinary Hospital does. And they do it all.. I would give them a 12 out of 10. They are truly outstanding.. I have already been recommending this vet to several people. They are simply the best vet practice I have found. *******. Update 12/28/2022. My opinion of this practice is unchanged. I had adopted a Wolfey, a Shiba Inu who was 11 years old. He was in great health for a few years until he developed what was basically doggie vertigo. (At that point he was about 14 years old. He recovered fully and Dr. Fenwick and staff helped me get through that weird time. ). Then about a year later, he seemed to get it again - about 3 times within a 10 day period. One of those times seemed to be almost like a stroke because he didn't really recover and his balance was off. I wasn't sure what was going on, but Dr Fenwick helped us through it and he recovered. But he was a happy doggo who loved to play and was still enjoying life. A few months after his 16th birthday he had a final stroke that was severe. It caused brain damage and his personality changed. He was suffering. It was time to let him go. I took him to Dr Fenwick and the experience was just as calming as it was when I had to let go of Buck. Wolfey was special and I got his pawprints and a few days later a wonderful card from Dr Fenwick and the staff.. Having senior dogs is difficult sometimes. But this fully accredited hospital really does the best job that I have seen at taking care not only of the pet, but of the human that cares for the furry family member.
D.G. Love the services and the people at Breton Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Fenwick is awesome. We have used other vet services in the area, 1 very popular. Would never consider any of them for future services.
S.A. They were great and very understanding when I took my 12 yr old dane to them. He had osteosarcoma and they helped make his last few weeks more comfortable for him and I couldn't be more appreciative for that.
J.R.J. My little kitty Shady had gotten into a fight. Her eye was swollen shut and infected badly. Mrs Buhler cleaned her up so nicely and took care of my little Shady like she was her own! I highly recommend this facility and Dr Buhler. The staff was also exceptional and very kind.
P.T. The entire staff is amazing! They treated my Sadie like one of their own pets! Sadie and I are truly blessed to have them all as our vet ❤️.
