    Bristol County Veterinary Hospital

AAHA-accredited, Board Certified doctors & hospital: Bristol County Veterinary Hospital with 3 Vets located in Seekonk, MA, provide the finest care for your pet.

Welcome to Bristol County Veterinary Hospital, established in 1988 by Dr. Amy Hurd. The doctors and staff at BCVH are committed to providing the highest quality veterinary care for your animals. We care for many species of animals. Some of our patients include (but are not limited to) dogs, cats, and rabbits.

Our team of professionals is committed to maintaining the highest possible standards of medical and surgical expertise and makes every effort to bring to your animals the latest and
    greatest developments in veterinary medicine.

At Bristol County Veterinary Hospital, we treat your pets as if they were our own.

We provide complete up-to-date care for your pets. Our high standards apply to every aspect of our hospital, including experience and training of our professional staff as well as our clean and modern facility.

    Examinations and immunizations
The veterinarians and staff at Bristol County Veterinary Hospital strongly believe in the concept of preventive medicine. Regular "wellness" examinations and immunizations are extremely important for maintaining the health of your pet.

Due to recent discoveries and innovations in veterinary medicine, your pet can be protected from most contagious diseases. Today, many immunizations and preventive treatments are available that did not exist just a few years ago. The knowledgeable staff at Bristol County Veterinary Hospital can help you decide what preventive measures are necessary for your pet(s).

    Medical Care
With our state-of-the-art equipment and our highly trained staff, we provide complete medical care for all pets.

    Full Surgical Services
Our hospital is equipped to perform most surgical procedures from spays and neuters to complicated orthopedic (bone and joint) procedures. We take pride in our equipment and our modern patient monitoring systems.

    Dentistry and Preventive Teeth Cleaning
Animals (like people) need regular dental care. Gum disease causes pain, accounts for the loss of teeth, and can lead to serious generalized bacterial infections. Our physical exams include a thorough examination of the mouth. Teeth cleaning (removal of dental plaque and tartar) is an important step in preventing future dental problems.

    In-House Laboratory Facilities
Our extensive in-house laboratory provides information that is critical to your sick or injured pet. Due to our modern in-house diagnostic equipment, animals can receive appropriate treatment immediately after arriving at the hospital. Our laboratory is equipped to perform preanesthesia blood testing. This procedure greatly reduces the risks that can be associated with surgery.

    Pharmacy
We stock an extensive drug inventory so medications can be dispensed before leaving the clinic. Our hospital carries several types of heartworm prevention medication as well as a large inventory of flea products.

    Medical Imaging
We have a complete radiographic facility for taking and developing imaging films.

    Hospitalization
Hospitalization is needed for sick or debilitated animals. Hospitalization of of patients allows for constant monitoring, proper delivery of medication, fluid administration (if needed), ICU type treatment and good basic TLC.

We also recommend Emergency Veterinary Services of Rhode Island, located in Warwick, RI. This is a complete emergency pet referral center where the highest quality of emergency care is provided.

E.C.R. I've found Bristol County Veterinary Hospital to be the best around. The staff are caring for my cats and dog and are extremely responsive when necessary. I've tried other vet facilities in the area but always come back to Bristol County.
A.M. Great visit. The vet, Dr. Andrae, gave us great ideas and hope that we can stop our cat from peeing outside the box. So far, things are looking up. The vet was thoughtful and caring and took the time to explain why this was happening, and gave us multiple ideas to try.
    P. Great people. I've known Dr. Ripp since I was 18 (I'm 35 now). I know all the techs I've just been going here forever and there genuinely good people who care about animals.
M.P. It is obvious that the staff genuinely care about your pet. Super friendly people, always willing to answer any questions I have. My cat gets a little spicy and they handle him very well.
G.F. Dr. Ripp is a wonderful veterinarian! She and her assistant were very thorough, professional and exceptionally kind to my pug. I would not have anyone else care for my baby. Dr. Ripp is amazing with him and so knowledgeable, I know he's in good hands.
A.Y. They take very good care of my two pups, and one of my dogs is particularly PARTICULARLY reactive at the vets – they show a lot of patience with our special needs (and while every pet parent knows that vet bills are no fun, their rewards program is quite good and helps defray the cost)!
D.N. I have brought my cats to Bristol County Veterinary Hospital since the early 2000's.. and I have always been treated kindly, promptly, professionally. I have only the highest praise for the service there. My kitties appreciate them, too.
K.A. First visit to this vet. Staff great. Got down on floor to Belle's level. Great interaction. The only reason for 4 stars was the final cost for this visit. A bit high but worth it. Would recommend to anyone looking for a vet.
