D.J.M.We have been going here for 6 monts now since I moved to the area, been pleased with Dr Bruce and the staff and he's great with my 3 dogs.
A.P.My brother and sis-in-law have always brought their dogs to Dr. Bruce at Eastwood. When I was visiting them last summer, I discovered that the pup had helped himself to 2 OUNCES of chocolate coated espresso beans I had purchased earlier that day. This was about 7-8 in the evening. Trying not to panic, but knowing the potential danger, I told my bro and SIL what happened, and frantically googled the number for ASPCA pet poison control. I was not reassured when my SIL said "Oh, I'll call Dr. Bruce. " (Please understand, I've lived in FL most of my life and am not used to this type of personalized, time-sensitive service. ) As she called the office number & spoke to the answering service, knowing time was of the essence, I called my husband in FL as we have this phone # posted on our refrigerator for our cats. Before I was off the phone, Dr. Bruce had called her back. He calmly and clearly told us what to do. We were able to induce vomiting in the boy pretty quickly, and he got rid of all that poison! He had no further issues. I'm thankful to this day. I was very impressed with Dr. Bruce, and his answering service, who appreciated the urgency and immediately responded. 10 stars here.
K.The staff is so friendly and helpful when answering questions and concerns about your pet's health. You feel like you have their attention and are not just another appointment they are trying to get through.
L.C.Best place ever! Dr. Bruce, the other vet doctors, and the staff go out of their way to make sure sure that your pets are well taken care of. They also ensure that all their pet owners are at ease with their pets' care. I have a 10 year old fur baby, shih tzu, who has a urinary condition that causes her to make a lot of bladder stones. Dr. Bruce has done two operations on her, and she is still going strong because of his excellent care. I also have a 1 year old fur baby, shih tzu. She is also under the wonderful care of Dr. Bruce. I recently had her spayed, and he was there for her, and for me, through every step of the operation. Both of my dogs were born in Canada where I spend my summer months. I have a Canadian vet who tend to them if they need any care during that time. However, she know that Dr. Bruce is the number one vet in charge of my dogs. If my dogs need care while in Canada, she contacts Eastwood animal to make sure that she is treating my dog's according to how Dr. Bruce would. I can also call Dr. Bruce while I'm in Canada to get his advice on anything. He is always available to help. I was referred to Dr Bruce by a good friend about 10 years ago, and I continue to refer my friends to his practice. I hope this review helps you decide to take your pets to Eastwood Animal Clinic, in Rutland, VT.
E.E.I have Bruce as my vet for my cat. A few months ago my cat was dying and I brought him to a different vet. They were horrible to me and my cat and I kept hearing about Bruce so I decided to bring them in best decision I've ever made in my life, I felt my cat was being taken care of and I felt like he went out of his way to make sure that my cat was okay even calling me late hours at night just to tell me that my cat was okay. I've been able to make payments which has been awesome since I don't have a very flexible budget right now, their staff has been awesome there's once in a while I miscommunication but other than that they've been awesome towards me and my cat Tazz, I thought my boy was going to die and he's an emotional support animal so I don't know if I would have done if I lost him.
A.M.Eastwood is the only vet I go to in VT. My main vet is out of state, but both of my dogs have regularly gone to Eastwood when I am local. I would not hesitate to bring any pet here for regular visits or emergencies.. Dr. Bruce, Dr. Justin, and everyone working here truly care about every pet they see. They tend to be very busy but are absolutely worth the wait. Extremely reasonable vet prices and excellent care. Bring some snacks for yourself and pet just in case there is a wait and you'll be set!
C.H.I wish I could leave more then 5 stars. We are in the midst of dealing with 2 dogs who were hit by a truck a few days ago. Eastwood got them in IMMEDIATELY when every other vet in Rutland county told us they couldn't help and to drive 2 hours to other emergency vets. Our girls were quickly taken care of, they spent 2 nights at Eastwood and Dr. Bruce called me both nights to give me up dates. We have a long road ahead while they heal but I am so thankful we were directed to Eastwood and Dr. Bruce. He is amazing.
K.K.I rescued a puppy who became very sick, and the lovely people at Dr. Bruce’s practice were incredibly compassionate and thorough even though they were clearly very busy! They even let me come by after hours to pick up some meds. I’m so grateful to them and would recommend them to every pet owner in the area!
