    Services:

    EXAMINATIONS
Scheduled examinations with a veterinarian take place weekdays from 9am–noon and from 3pm–6pm. We’re open late on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so exams on those days are scheduled until 8pm. (Surgeries and dental procedures are performed from noon–3pm.)

    VACCINATIONS
Vaccine protocols are individualized for each cat and dog and are discussed at the time of examination in regard to risk versus benefit. Each pet vaccinated at APH is first examined to ensure that they are healthy enough to be vaccinated.

    DIAGNOSTICS
As a full-service pet hospital, we perform x-rays, blood tests, urinalyses, and other needed evaluations in-house. We also have access to specialized laboratories and CT/MRI facilities for cases where advanced diagnostics are needed.

    SURGERY
Our veterinarians perform many types of surgeries, including spays, neuters, tumor removal, and biopsies. Orthopedic and more complicated procedures are performed by board-certified surgeons who work on-site on an as-needed basis.

    DENTISTRY
We perform dental cleanings for dogs and cats with our high frequency water scaler and high speed polisher. During the procedure each pet is evaluated for gum health and tooth integrity. We also perform dental x-rays, extractions, and oral surgery as needed.

    REFERRALS
We have long-established relationships with many board-certified veterinary specialists in the Bay Area, including acupuncturists, internists, oncologists, and ophthalmologists, as well as other specialties. We will help arrange a referral based on a pet’s needs.

    PHARMACY
Our in-house pharmacy is stocked to meet the medical needs of our patients, and includes an ample supply of over-the-counter products to help with parasite control and grooming needs. In addition, we carry prescription diet food for dogs and cats.

    BOARDING
We board dogs, cats, and occasionally rabbits for our existing clients. Our kennel assistants take each dog to our fenced yard for playtime twice daily. To be accepted for boarding, pets must be current on vaccinations, neutered, and pass a temperament test to ensure that they will be comfortable in the kennel environment.

F.O.O.F.A.F. Phenomenal care from two gentle and thoughtful vets who handle our anxious dogs incredibly well.
M.N. Great staff if you can actually get an appointment when you need one. I love the people who work here but I’ve continually had issues getting semi-urgent appointments. My dog has an eye infection and they can’t see us until next week! He’s had the same thing in the past and the vet will not approve the medication until she sees him which makes sense…however, what do I do in the meantime. Spending $1000 at an emergency vet for an eye infection is not what I want to do but that is Alameda Pet Hospital is recommending. Craziness!
L.G. The absolute best vet in my experience! They have always treated my pets with the best care and kindness. Our dog is always excited to visit.
K.T. Highly recommend. My vet retired, and I needed to find a new one fast since my cat needs an approved prescription. My first visit was friendly and welcoming. Everyone was kind, and the vet was informative without pressuring me into unnecessary expenses. My cat becomes really upset when he goes to the vet, and they worked with me to give him liquid medication to help him relax, which was way easier and cheaper than previous vets that required putting him totally under. They also sent me an estimate for some dental work for my cat. Refilling my cat's prescription is very simple and can be done through text. The vet and staff are all knowledgeable, patient, and welcoming. If you need a vet, this is the best place in the Bay.
W.P. First time visit for my newly adopted feral kitten, overall good experience. Got two shots(doesn't include rabies one, because baby boy is too young), two types of blood test and an exam/check-up, skipped de-worm thing since I have the medicine at home. Total paid $150 for this visit, not bad. All the staff menbers were friendly & this vet office is not so difficult to get an appointment. My baby needs to do another two maybe three visits for completing the whole vaccination.
C.C. While in California, Kona is well taken care of here. The staff and doctors are all nice and caring. Not Kona's favorite place for obvious reasons but certainly a place his family trusts! As a professional in human health care, both Drs Harris and Wagner and their team deserves 5 stars!
M.R. Had to schedule dental procedures for my 7 year old fur baby after dreading it for the last year but seeing a big decrease in eating and a change in Behavior it was definitely needed. Alameda Pet Hospital was great, they were very upfront about procedure and cost and kept the total price with in the original estimate. They even called the next day to check on Tucker post-op. I would highly recommend them for any Veterinary needs, we have been going with them for years and have never been disappointed. There covid-19 compliance is great and I never once felt sad for leaving my pet even though I couldn't take him in to the building and I had to wait in the car when it came time to pick him up.
