P.P. Normally I would rate these guys very highly. They've been our vet for years. Now their hours are all over the place. They used to be 7 days a week with late hours. Now, apparently they're five days a week with banker's hours. Even though Google and their signage says differently. They also apparently close as early as 4 on some days now. Which is too early for me to get there after work. My dogs are now without medicine all weekend. I would've gone lower than three stars. But I can't slam them completely taking the entire years long relationship into account.

F.A.V. I love Alta Vista Veterinary Hospital! My fur baby was not really eating and vomiting for a few days. I took him to another vet who ran a bunch of tests and told me they did not see anything out of the ordinary. They prescribed some meds and sent me on my way.. The next day I called back because I was not seeing any improvement and they told me I may start to consider euthanasia. I was devested and decided to reach out to Alta Vista.. They allowed me to drop my pet off for a same day urgent appointment. I get a call from Dr. Jenkins who told me he took x-rays and it showed my pet had an obstruction! Needless to say he did an emergency surgery and now my boy is back to his happy self!

L.D. I have to say that I was contacted immediately by the management of Alta Vista after my post & had a in depth discussion regarding the front desk. I have a clearer understanding of the challenges they face and can understand some of the disconnect. All in all the doctors are superb & because of them I had an extra 10 months with my Bella. For this I am eternally grateful. As to the front desk staff - we all have moments & with the case load I can see why they have to make the calls that they make, I will continue using Alta Vista for my pets. I have left my prior review - it’s hard to cope when a loved one of your babies is sick. So I take my share of responsibility in the exchange. We all have bad days & I think that was the case here, I have not had any issues prior to or since that day. And I did get into see my doc the following day.. The front desk staff showed little to no compassion on a Tues at 4 pm. After explaining my dogs heart condition & severe separation anxiety they had no problem with allowing her to be “dropped off” which could have caused her major problems with her heart. She has been seen by Dr. Cox since the onset of CHF - I was given no option for a wait list - only to call tomorrow….

S.S. I had to bring in one of my ferals after he disappeared for 3 days and came back in very bad shape they were the closest and one of the only vets opened. When I got there they took him back and took us to a room right away and within minutes the Dr came in and said he was dying and I knew he was but needed to make sure. I appreciate the fact that the Dr didn't beat around the bush he was straight forward and that made me feel at ease because some of these other vets will tell you that they need to run more tests etc.. And before you know it you have a vet bill that's more then all your monthly bills combined. The staff was caring and friendly and I'm thankful they were open and I didn't have to make my cat suffer and the price was extremely fair for what was done when I've paid more then that for the same outcome. Thank you to the staff that was there on 10/13/21 for helping me with my boy "Face".

B.R. I've taken my pets to Alta Vista for many years. Recently we had to euthanize our dog Jethro, they were so kind to us. Didn't need an appointment, was able to walk in, on a weekend, and get into a room quickly, procedure, although heartbreaking, was provided with dignity and kindness. I miss my boy Jethro but was grateful for the kindness to our family in such a sad time. He went peacefully and we were treated with respect.
