Long before Dr. Crumley became a veterinarian, she envisioned raising Bernese Mt. Dogs under the kennel name Heartwood. Fine craftsmen value heartwood lumber as the strongest and most beautiful wood. Heartwood would be a place where strong and beautiful dogs would develop. Although her vision of a breeding kennel changed to a veterinary hospital, she still stands by the name, Heartwood, as a reminder that we are developing strong, healthy animals. The heart of our hospital is based on building lasting relationships with people who care passionately for pets.

Heartwood Animal Hospital opened its doors for the first time on January 2, 2000 and now treats patients for over 4,000 clients.

L.H. Best vet I’ve ever been to. I’ve been going to Heartwood Animal hospital for a few years for my cat, and now also with my new puppy. They go above and beyond and you can tell they genuinely care. I wouldn’t trust my fur babies with anyone else. Highly recommend!

L.H. Today, I took my newest baby to heartwood. We absolutely love them. My first baby "Winchester " loves this vet. He gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot. They know him immediately. I trust them for anything concerning my fur babies. We really love Dr. Shepherd.

N.M. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff at Heartwood Animal Hospital. I moved to the area in August, and was thrilled to be so close to vet care for my animals. My dog wasn’t acting normal, and shortly after, he was diagnosed with kidney failure. The vets were amazing at suggesting treatments to manage the symptoms, and when my dog wasn’t feeling well, they always managed to work him in. One of the vet techs, Cathy, was a godsend for in home subcutaneous fluid administration. She heard I needed help, and wasted no time in coming by my house and assisting and providing useful information to make it be easier to administer fluids. Unfortunately, my dog stopped responding to treatment, and we had to let him go. The staff was very sympathetic when I went to pick up his ashes shortly after. I would suggest this clinic to anyone looking for quality treatment of their beloved fur babies!

C.K. Caring staff who worked my cat in twice in the last few months for scary conditions. Dr. Murphy has called with diagnoses and then results of tests. Staff have followed up to see how shes doing a few days after I brought her home. I've used them as my vet for close to 25 years.

J.F. They have been wonderful to my dogs! We originally found them because we had to get my son's dogs a health certificate to fly to Alaska with me. Nobody in the area wanted to give me an appointment because we were still in the covid days. Heartwood knew I was stressed and kind of freaking out, because I had to fly with 2 dogs very soon. They were amazing, worked me into their schedule and treated the dogs wonderfully. A few months later we got a puppy because our dog was sady sons dogs left and they have been amazing with the care and treatment of our growing puppy and now our female dog who we switched her care to them as well! I've had pets for years and this is absolutely the best team of Vets and staff I've ever had take care of my pets! We love Heartwood! ?.

T.W. The providers at Heartwood Animal Hospital really care about their patients! They are always pleasant and very helpful from check-in to check-out. They are always so helpful with any concerns I may have and will always fit me in, in the event of an emergency. My fur babies absolutely love them! The best Vet by far!

B.H. I can not say how grateful I am for these amazing people. After calling several vets letting them know that I thought something was severely wrong with my dog. After being let down, Heartwood completely understood and asked for me to bring him immediately to fit in in-between appointments. Immediately they did testing and called every time they found anything out. And, helped us make the best decision for our 13 year old dog. He had cancer and he would of continued to suffer. They are amazing to us and to our Buddy! Thank you so much. We will be back when we gather ourselves after letting our furbaby go.
