A.B. Absolutely great experience here with my behaviorally challenging dog when she ingested homemade playdough which resulted in salt poisoning. The staff and doctors all took a low stress handling approach with my dog while she was hospitalized. I appreciated this greatly as we've worked very hard and very long on making vet visits less scary for her. With their kind and thoughtful approach to her care, I feel she won't lose any progress we've made in making vet visits a comfortable experience. There's only one doctor and minimal staff so you may have to wait a while. That's the state of veterinary care everywhere though, so be kind and patient with them. There were two other people there when we arrived, plus who knows how many other hospitalized pets. We waited in our car where our dog was most comfortable and were told that we should come inside if she got worse before they could see us. I had no problem patiently waiting as I totally understand how short staffed vet offices across the country currently are. I knew when it was our turn, they'd be giving my dog the same compassion, time, and attention they give to all patients. On another note, I highly recommend muzzle training your dog before you are in a situation you might need it. My dog is muzzle trained and it made a world of difference for all involved. Choose a basket muzzle that allows a FULL pant so your dog can eat, drink, and vomit safely if needed. FYI the suggested sizes on muzzle packaging are generally too small.
    T. We are full-time rv'ers traveling this beautiful country with our 15 year old yorkie, Cosmo. He had some issues over the past 6 months, but today was different. We contacted Blue Pearl and from the start they were amazing. They took our information, and info about what Cosmo was going through and they told us to come right over. We had a bad feeling and after they examined him and took x-rays they determined he had lung cancer which has spread to his neck. We had to make the most difficult decision and put Cosmo to sleep. The doctor and Kelly were so compassionate, caring and accommodating, which made this awful decision easier. We knew we were doing the right thing and they helped us through this impossible time. I truly recommend Blue Pearl, the wonderful Dr (can't remember her name, sorry) and Kelly. Until we meet again Cosmo @ the Rainbow Bridge ??.
N.M. After my 14 year old golden retriever, Sadie, unexpectedly passed away, Duluth's Blue Pearl Hospital helped me with cremation services. Kelly (I believe was her name) never rushed us throughout the process and saying goodbye, gave us great comfort through her words of empathy and understanding, and helped to ensure that an immensely sad experience was also filled with moments of joy. Kelly even made us a clay paw print from Sadie's paw :') I will forever be grateful for the support Kelly and the staff at Blue Pearl showed to us and will always recommend them.
B.A. Found my dog severely hurt in the middle of the night. I called BluePearl to let them know I was on my way. When I arrived they took all our info over the phone and came out to my car to get her quickly. The doctor gave her a thorough exam and then gave me several different courses of action for her continued care. After tests, ultrasound, and radiography, I was presented with updated options for her care. Doctor was kind and compassionate, honest. I was made aware of all risks and benefits of my different options. After a couple days and nights of care my fur baby is on her way to recovery. I couldn't be more thankful to BluePearl's staff for the love and amazing care my pet received!
A.R. We live in a small town in northern MN and when our dog started having strange symptoms and crying out there were no vets in our area available on a Friday night. Finally we got a hold of Blue Pearl which was an hour and a half drive from our house and they took him in as soon as we got our dog there. He required a serious surgery and two night stay. We were updated regularly, every shift change from each vet. Thank you for saving our boy, Dexter!
R.R. I just had to make the very hard choice to put my dog to sleep. From the moment I called and explained what was going on, I was treated with the all the compassion a person going through this should be. The receptionist was incredibly understanding and very helpful. She was factual and to the point. We were able to bring him in with little to no notice. The entire process was heartbreaking but the staff was very kind and sympathetic. It made the whole process just that much more tolerable. I was surprised that his ashes only took a few days to come back, and they came in a beautiful box, along with a beautiful paw print. This staff is extremely professional, compassionate and amazing at what they do.
S.B. We'd never had an animal emergency and even worse never one where the possibility of passing away was so great, our dog is only 6 months old and small, he got into. Dangerous amount of medication and this facility helped me and my family stay calm in a situation where you feel like your chasing the time, our dog survived because of them and he has not suffered any residuals of any nature, they enjoyed our dog and kept him happy, we will Always go to and recommend this facility and their care teams!
J.P. My dog received excellent care at Blue Pearl in Duluth, MN on a Saturday when he wouldn't stand or walk. The staff are very compassionate and obviously animal lovers. This was our first visit there so I had no idea it could take hours. Waiting in the parking lot for 3 hours could have been avoided if I was told I might want to go home and wait for their call. I'd like to suggest they tell people that. But aside from that, I was completely satisfied with the care my dog received and will return if it ever becomes necessary.
