Our responsibilities extend not only to providing exemplary medical care to our patients, but also to ensuring that pet owners are equipped with complete and accurate information regarding their pets' condition and care. We are dedicated to fulfilling these responsibilities with compassion and understanding for the needs of animals and their owners. In order to realize our goals for success, the doctors and the staff of Crossroads Animal Hospital adhere to the following principles:

Compassion - Providing compassion for our patients and clients and being empathetic to their needs is paramount to our view of our profession.
Cleanliness - Working with animals can be a dirty job. Providing a clean work environment for our clients and staff and for the comfort of our patients is vital, not only for aesthetic reasons, but to prevent the spread of possible disease causing agents.
Communication - Communication with clients, between doctors, and with staff members is key to operating successfully. Our clients and staff must have clear understandings of what they can expect from us and what we, in turn, expect from them. Well-documented medical records, client discharge notes, and complete employee manuals confirm that vital communication links exist.
Convenience - We provide efficient, easily-accessible and convenient animal care with office hours that accommodate our clients schedules and services that meet their needs, but without compromise to the quality of care.
Commitment - We are dedicated to our profession and to our community. We must be committed to providing excellent animal care, while at the same time, being committed to running a profitable business.
Continuing education - In order to continue providing quality health care, the doctors at Crossroads Animal Hospital keep up with changes in our profession through continuing education programs.
Client education - We firmly believe that we are here to inform, instruct and guide our clients so that they may become better pet owners and that their pets live longer, healthier and happier lives. It is not enough just to answer their questions; we identify the questions that need to be answered. As in any profession, we should be and are aggressive advocates in acting in the best interest of the animals we serve and the people who rely on our opinions and skills.
The confidence of our clients and the trust of our patients is the cornerstone of our success. We welcome new patients and look forward to continuing to provide our existing clientele with the quality veterinary care they have come to expect.
Services
After-Hours
Crossroads Animal Hospital rotates call with two other animal hospitals in town. The on-call doctor is available 365 days a year during non-business hours if your pet requires after-hours care. If another hospital is on call your pet will be treated at that hospital until they can be transferred back to us on the next business day. A call to 662-232-1387 will page the doctor, who will then promptly return your call.
Surgery
We routinely perform a wide variety of soft-tissue and orthopedic procedures. Our hospital features a surgery room equipped with a gas-anesthesia machine and a state-of-the-art patient monitor which includes an EKG, pulse oximeter, and blood pressure monitoring. Should the need arise; we can refer your pet to a board certified specialist.
Dental
Just like people, animals suffer from plaque build up. If left untreated, plaque can lead to gum disease, which in turn can lead to life-threatening infections in other parts the body. Crossroads Animal Hospital recommends that your pet's wellness plan include annual dental appointments. For more information concerning animal dentistry, please see www.petdental.com. Ask about our Dental Month specials.
Wellness
"An ounce of prevention. . ." is particularly applicable where your pet's health is concerned. Your pet should be examined and vaccinated starting at 6 to 8 weeks of age. After the initial kitten or puppy series, annual visits are recommended until geriatric care is appropriate. Once your companion animal reaches its 8th year, you should consider semiannual examinations for early detection of diseases and conditions common to our older patients.
Diagnostic
Crossroads Animal Hospital contains a laboratory with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and a digital x-ray machine and processing equipment. Our investment in this equipment ensures quick and accurate diagnoses of disease and trauma. Radiograph images can be emailed or placed on a CD if necessary. Procedures performed in our laboratory include chemistry panels, complete blood counts, urinalysis, fecal examinations, Feline Leukemia/FIV tests and heartworm tests. We employ the services of outside laboratories and specialists as the need arises.
Boarding Services
Come visit our new spacious boarding facility. All of our boarding facilities are in-door and temperature controlled. They include a separate cat room complete with multi-level "kitty condos" and an aquarium for feline entertainment. For our canine boarders, we offer runs, cages, as well as luxurious suites with their own private bed and a window. All canine borders enjoy frequent out-door walks in our fenced outside exercise area.
For the protection of your pets, as well as our other boarders, we require that all animals staying with us be free of fleas and ticks, and current on vaccinations. If your pet arrives with fleas or ticks, we will treat it for a nominal fee. Please bring proof of current vaccination with you if your pet is not currently a patient with us.
