A.D.I love the staff! they are so very kind, helpful, knowledgeable, accommodating and exceedingly patient with all of their patients. even the big, strong, vocal and full of energy ones! they're just the best and I'd highly recommend them to any and all pet parents!
T.A.Dr. Murphy & Lori are excellent with the ability to care for my kitties the way they do. The amount of love they show while the animal is in their office is way above a 10. You can't rate that kind of care. I appreciate this office and all who work there. If able to choose a location again, 100% I'd choose River road ♡. Thank you guys! Luna & Coco's Mom.
D.C.We've been going to this vet for a few years now, for our dogs and parrot.. When our dog had a horrible accident last December, the wonderful folks at River Road gave up their lunch break and rearranged their whole day to take her into emergency surgery. Her recovery took 3 months, and they always found space in their schedule to fit us in for check ups (I think we interrupted a few lunch breaks), they were incredibly kind and compassionate, and they even sent us off with lots of holiday treats for the dogs.. I'm very happy with the care we've received, and would absolutely recommend River Road.
M.K.Highly Recommended! We are in Bar Harbor for the summer and couldn't locate a vet anywhere with openings (6-8 weeks out). Our poor baby had a UTI and we needed something same day. I called around and River Road was kind enough to squeeze us in. I absolutely cannot say enough kind words to express how grateful we are. Thank you so much!
L.R.They got our injured Guinea pig in instantly and treated her. That experience was why I chose them for my other pets. Jemma, my cat, just had her first appointment and they were a perfect match. I love that they treat chickens too as I have a flock!
D.M.We have gone to River Road for years, like 15 or more. They always take wonderful care of our animals. We have chinchillas, a sun conure, a Belgian Malinois, and 2 cats. They are amazing to go to for people with exotic pets. They are always polite and respectful of me and my pets. I always recommend them to people I know that are looking for a vet.
B.I brought my Jackson's Chameleons there (Adam and Eve) today! Eve for a routine health exam and Adam for a sick visit. They ALL had been amazing since the first phone call to schedule my Chams appointments and EVERY. SINGLE. INTERACTION since that <3 They both got a great bill of health and everyone was so pleasant, informative, friendly and over all, so genuinely sweet! <3 Their prices were excellent as well, great vet care (to me, is priceless anyways) but it was a very reasonable, affordable and fair cost. TY to the wonderful vet, and all staff members there!
A.R.Amazing place for all exotics as well as dogs and cats. Whether your baby is furred, scaled, or feathered, you are guaranteed to get THE best care in Maine. Period. I do rescue work and they have saved SO many lives. Doctors take the time to research things they are not familiar with, catch rare things early and fast, and are very reasonably priced. Thank you to the entire staff for your knowledge, compassion, and love of my animals over the years through every trial and tribulation.
