Burnham Park Animal Hospital is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. Established in 1994 by Dr Lawrence M Fox, a native of the South Side, and Dr JB Bruederle. The hospital is located in the building which formerly served a the main Chicago Post Office. Our practice is an AAHA-certified member hospital. AAHA is the only organization that accredits animal hospitals throughout the U.S. & Canada. AAHA-accredited hospitals adhere to the highest-quality standards available, which helps ensure the best care for your pet. Burnham Park Animal Hospital is one of only 3000 AAHA practices in North America.

We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, laser, ultrasound, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas.

T.C.Y. We have been taking our dogs to Burnham Park for years, and we are very happy with friendly staffs and our Vet, Dr. Olson. She’s very caring, and always addresses our concerns on point.. The facility just recently completed renovated, and is very nice. Hope they will continue providing the great service as usual.

B. I brought my Belgian Malinois in for his annual shots. I decided to get him a complete tune-up so he received shots, dental check-up, and nails clipped. Dr. Ohlsen took great care of him. He is starting to get a little arthritis now so she told me what to do. He needs to lose about 12 pounds! Those damned eyes of his get to me everytime and I give him treats. Nope. That stops today. He behaved very well. All the staff is very nice and friendly. He cost me $300 today. My little buddy is worth it though. Great place! SB.

M.O. I took my Mia to Burnham Animal Hospital because she is sick! I was so amazed and thankful to Dominique for her patience, being a great listener, her professionalism and for being so kind. She patiently answered all my questions and was very caring to my Mia which is the most important to me. I really appreciated her answering my questions because I had a lot! She was the only one who made us feel at ease and understood. This young lady is a great asset to Burnham animal hospital. It would be sad to see her leave. You’re in great hands with Dominique! Dr. B was a good listener, kind, caring and professional. He took good care of my Maltese Mia. He listened to my urgent concern over Mia’s separation anxiety and he recommended meds for her. She is doing quite well and her behavior has changed to the positive. I had read the reviews about Dr. B and I knew I had to take my Mia to him. He seems to be very knowledgeable of his profession and I had read he’s been doing it for a long time now. I highly recommend you go to Burnham Park Animal Hospital and see Dr. B. M.L. We had a remarkable experience at Burnham Park Animal Hospital. Dr. Jimenez was amazing and so grateful that she let my son, Jackson hear our dog Shelby’s heart with her stethoscope. The little extra touch goes a long way! Shelby walked off with a clean bill of health and grateful for a positive experience.

H.E. We love taking our animals here! The staff is nice and it is easy to get appointments. They offer PAW plans as well which are amazing deals. Our cats don’t mind coming here due to the amazing staff and vets. The prices are reasonable and we are very happy :).

A.D. Everyone here from the techs to the vets are incredible with both our cat Chloe, and our dog Duncan. They are quick to respond to any questions and have gone out of their way for the health of our pets. Highly recommend for anyone living in south loop.

M.D. After reading some recent reviews, Im compelled to shed some light on this wonderful business! I have been a long time customer of this hospital and recently had my dogs regular check up and they always leave Burnham Park happier and healthier than before. Nothing bad to be said about doctors, techs, reception, management etc! It saddens me to see people try to slander a business online, especially a hospital. Shouldn’t your main concern be caring for your pet? With that being said i have gone here for years and will continue to bring my Benni and Frankie here and will always recommend everyone else do so as well! If you treat people with compassion and respect you are sure to get that in return.. If you want amazing, innovative care for your pets go to Burnham park.

E.L. I visited recently with my 3 year old adopted cat, Aura, and could not be more than happy with my experience! I was worried because I arrived late for my appointment but with their 15 minute grace period, my feline friend was able to be serviced. I am beyond grateful for the team for being patient and understanding. Dr. Olson is a wonderful vet who made my baby feel so comfortable and safe on her first vet visit. She handled Aura with ease and made the visit a positive one for all of us. The vaccine process was surprisingly quick despite the busy hours kicking in and the team was beyond helpful. I emailed the hospital and received a response almost immediately. I cannot stress how amazing and efficiently the team communicates to address your concerns. I highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone with a furry companion in Chicago. I am looking forward to my next visit!
