Abel-Keppy is the Iowa and Illinois Quad Cities' premier veterinary health care center. We offer three convenient Quad City locations: Our main facility in Bettendorf is a fully equipped hospital including advanced diagnostic, surgical and emergency care services; our two strategically placed satellite clinics can perform most routine procedures and minor surgeries on an outpatient basis.

Abel-Keppy is a full service facility. We offer quality veterinary care through the use of state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment such as EKG machines, ultrasound and x-ray equipment. We are among the few veterinary hospitals qualified to offer laser surgery. Most of our laboratory services are performed in-house allowing us to provide you with results of most of your pet's tests in a matter of minutes instead of hours or days. We also offer full service grooming, professionally supervised boarding, and a complete line of dietary and other animal care products.

The Abel-Keppy staff is second to none. And, because we stress continuing education and the importance of staying completely current with the latest diagnostic and treatment techniques, we can provide superior medical care for all patients: canine, feline, avian, reptiles and amphibians, or small pocket pets.

History of Abel-Keppy
Dr. William Abel founded Abel-Keppy Animal Hospital in 1956. The clinic's first home was in a remodeled house on State Street in Bettendorf, Iowa, but, in 1960, the first part of the present hospital at 619-14th Street in Bettendorf was completed. To accommodate Dr. Abel's growing practice, the size of the facility was doubled in 1964 and again in 1968. In 1970, the Village Veterinary Clinic became the first satellite clinic location.

Dr. Abel formed a partnership with Dr. Kenneth Keppy in 1974 and the two continued to grow their practice. In 1978, Abel-Keppy added its second satellite location at the Cumberland Animal Clinic.

Following Dr. Abel's retirement from active practice, Dr. Keppy became President of Abel-Keppy, P.C. in 1989. In the fall of 1991, he opened the first Illinois satellite in Milan: Abel-Keppy Animal Health Center.

Abel-Keppy currently has facilities in Davenport, Bettendorf, and Milan to serve our Quad City families and is currently the largest veterinary health care provider in the Quad Cities.

D.L. Easy to get in for an appointment. Prompt service from each staff member. Gave us lots of great info for our puppy. The doctor gave us plenty of time to ask questions. All went well!

N.E. It was great. Last time we were there not happy with the way Buddy my dog was treated or me. On April 17th 2023. I felt like he was much nicer. Understood Buddy’s circumstance of being a rescue.

M.H. Our dogs have been patients of Abel Keppy for many years. When another vet suggested putting down our 4 year old German Shepherd because she had a torn ACL, we switched to Dr. Manwiller who was able to repair the tear. We enjoyed a number of extra years with our dog because of his abilities. We appreciate that he takes the time to get to know our pets and answer any questions we have. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend them!
