Doses - DIETHYLSTILBESTROL, (DES)

Dogs:

For susceptible infections:
a) 5 mg/kg - 10 mg/kg once daily PO for 2 - 3 days beyond the cessation of clinical signs to a maximum of 30 days therapy. (Package Insert¯Dicural®)
Monitoring Parameters/Client Information - Efficacy is the most important monitoring parameter. Clients should be instructed on the importance of giving the medication as instructed and not to discontinue it on their own.
Dosage Forms/Preparations/FDA Approval Status - Veterinary-Approved Products:
Difloxacin Oral Scored Tablets: 11.4 mg & 45.4 mg in btls of 100 & 500; 136 mg (dbl. scored)in btls of 50 & 250; Dicural® (Fort Dodge); (Rx). Approved for use in dogs. Federal lawprohibits the use of the drug in food-producing animals.
