A.P. This place is amazing. From the front desk to the staff to the doctors. They really seemed like they cared a lot about my concerns with miss Barbie, they where friendly, kind, and knowledgeable about her issue. The place it top quality service. The atmosphere was relaxing and the place was clean. I appreciate yall getting us in on such short notice to check her out.
J.W. We brought our bulldog Ruby to ISU for emergency stomach surgery. They found the problem, took care of it and cared for her for three days. With twice daily updates and the best care we’ve ever experienced, I highly recommend these guys to anybody who has an emergency situation with their pet. We drove from Omaha to get her there, knowing we would get the best care possible. Five STARS all the way!
M.M. When every other animal hospital in town closed early due to blizzard conditions, the ISU Small Animal hospital told us we could come to them for our hamster. Although the hospital don't see exotics like hamsters anymore, they made an exception for us, and I'm very thankful for that. They handled everything professionally, sincerely, and were very helpful throughout the process. I wish they would bring back their exotic animals care back, because I would forever be taking my hamsters here.
L.M. We chose ISU Small Animal Hospital Hospital because is was (1) open late on a Saturday of a holiday weekend, (2) in the direction we were driving, and (3) presumably a bit more affordable than a private emergency clinic since it's a training/learning pet hospital.. I'm giving it 5 stars because they did everything we needed them to do. The receptionist quickly checked us in (as a first time patient) and a tech took his history almost immediately and another took our dog. They were very clear about what treatments they were offering and why as well as the cost of each and we had full autonomy to say yes or no to each treatment option.. Did it take forever? Yes. 6 hours from walking in to walking out. Just plan to be patient. We were prepared for the wait because we knew it was not a typical vet environment (it's a school). We even went to grab dinner because the vet student had warned us about the timeline. Even with all the prep we still got a little tired of waiting.. However, when we were done, our dog was no longer puking, we knew there were no other foreign objects in his stomach, he had received fluid to compensate for all the throwing up, and we had a clear care plan until we could go see our primary vet. All for less than $500.
J.T. SO PLEASED with the care our puppy received after being run over by a pickup. From the orthopedic surgery to the rehab, she had amazing care. They kept us informed every step of the way. Everyone was caring and engaged, especially her student carers (vets & PTs in training). Just knowing she was being cared for by people who treated her like she was their own made it a little easier. Yes, it’s not inexpensive but neither is human healthcare. We’re so lucky that we were able to have her treated at Iowa State. Thank you for all you did for our Daisy!
K.S. I took my 1 yr old dog, Viva to Cardiology for a second opinion of her heart murmur that was previously diagnosed as aortic stenosis. We drove 2 hrs for her appt. Dr. Solari, the technician and student were all extremely pleasant and professional. They explained everything very well and did a wonderful job handling my girl. The only reason we will not be returning is because she was given a clean cardiac bill of health! ❤️ ?. If I lived closer, there is no doubt this hospital would be where I take my animals. The facility is beautiful and my bill came to be less than I was anticipating.
