Arapahoe Animal Hospital was founded by Dr. Joseph Ruwitch in 1954, and was originally located at 3151 Arapahoe Avenue in Boulder, a few blocks west of our present location. In 1969, Dr. Ruwitch and his partner, Dr. George McClintock, moved the hospital to its present address at 5585 Arapahoe Avenue, and guided the innovative design and construction of our present building. In those earlier days, our hospital was surrounded by open fields!
Arapahoe Animal Hospital is proud to have been an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) since 1970, meeting the Association's highest level of standards. Less than 15% of small animal veterinary facilities in North America are accredited by the AAHA and can claim the distinction of being an AAHA Member Hospital.
Today, Arapahoe Animal Hospital is a state-of-the-art veterinary facility offering complete and advanced Veterinary Medical, Dental, and Surgical Services for small animals and exotics. We are located on one full acre of tree-shaded land, with ample client parking and over 1/3-acre dedicated to our outdoor exercise and play yards.
We are a member of the American Boarding Kennels Association and offer Kennel and Pet Boarding and a "home away from home" for your pet when you are away
We also offer an outstanding Doggie Day Care program -- providing weekday socialization, exercise, and canine fun; a complete line of Hill's Science Diet and Prescription Diet pet foods; and a wide variety of retail pet items, treats, and toys!
